Dear best friend: If I ever have a first-born child, you can have it.

YES! YES! YES! YES!

Came out to my long time best friend over the weekend. Her reaction was basically, "Really? Cool. Keph is Keph. We kind of suspected anyways." She made an instant, and apparently effortless, name/pronoun switch, asked the practical questions of how to handle my family and who can be told and who can't, and then the conversation returned to its usual composition of bad puns and banter.

I know it's not all going to be that easy, but now I know I've got someone on my side.

That's great!  Having that support is wonderful and makes the bad times coming out more bearable. Congratulations on having a such a best friend.
