The force behind my transition

For lack of a better place to post this, I put it in the spirituality, even though this is astrology.

This may be of particular interest to you if you are about 28-30 years old or 57-59 years old.  There is plenty of information about this on the internet.  I was talking to another woman last night who knows I'm TS.  When she asked me my age and I told her (28), she said I was going through my Saturn return.  I was curious, so I did a little research and here's a brief synopsis of what it is.

Quote from: http://www.astrologycom.com/saturn.htmlEach twenty-nine years naturally presents us with the challenge to rise to new levels of awareness, or face the consequences of having failed to gain the wisdom required so to do. When Saturn in the heavens returns to the zodiacal degree where he was placed in your birth chart, you are said to be experiencing your Saturn Return. This only happens once every 29 years, so at around age 28-30, 57-59 (and if you live long enough) 86-88 you have what astrologers call a Saturn Return. This signifies a time of transition, from one life-phase to the next. The first Saturn return (around age 28-30) marks the transition from the Phase of Youth to the Phase of Maturity; the second from the Phase of Maturity to the Phase of Wisdom. The last one, if reached, seems usually to mark the transition either to the next world or else back to a second childhood!

As the Saturn return approaches, often our lives seem to speed up, as if hurrying to clear out old baggage from the past, to lighten the load for the next stage. Important things that either finalize old issues, or prepare the ground for new developments tend to occur with increasing frequency. Relationships and major life-decisions are often the focal points for this clearing out of karmic baggage.

For the specific time I was born in, my current Saturn return lasts 2 years from July 17, 2005 to September 2, 2007.  I began transitioning in Oct. 2005 and was hoping to have my surgery near then end of this period.  Now here's where it starts getting spooky for me.  I have been telling people that I planned on going fulltime by September.  For my particular birthday (July 1), my Saturn Return occurs Aug 17, 2006 - Aug 24, 2006.  Now that I know that, I think I will shoot for going fulltime in that week.  Please realize that I had never heard of a Saturn return until last night.  It's very eerie how acurate this information is.

This would definitely explain the compellingly strong reason I've felt to transition lately.  It's kind of like when your reading one of those Nancy Drew books and you are finally able to connect the 2 mysteries she has been working on.  Some people resist the change in this time of their lives and suffer for the next 29 years as a result.  Interestingly enough, because I have resisted to these changes so little, I have already been feeling the benefits of my new life.

Interesting notions, but the force behind my transition is "Me", I'm that captain of my own ship :)

Hmmm, I'm somehow reminded of the quote,

Diplomacy is the art of letting someone have your way.

That's pretty cool Melissa! I've never really followed astrology, and yet I'm constantly being surprised at how insightful it often is. In fact, I've even blamed my hyper-gemini-ness for all this: being "twins," never like to be stuck with one thing to long, need to always seek new points of view...

But being 41.994 years old, I guess I can't blame saturn :(

I'm still pinning it on mischevious faeries...

I'm not blaming being TS on Saturn.  I was just saying that Saturn probably has something to do with the sudden need to transition that I have felt.  Why now?  Why not a few years ago or a few years in the future?  It just happened that way.  It's just a little freaky how much of a coincidence this happens to be.
