I see the complete opposite. It all has to do with who we think is lying.

I doubt either of them know or will say 'the truth' if I made it as big as a barn and pushed it out of an airplane on them.

Here is your cup of Kool_Aid

I think McCain is not promising more or even lying.   I think he will try to accomplish his agenda , with many successes and many failures should he make the office.

However Obama touts changes that I am not sure or clear he has the clout to ever accomplish.  Radical extremeism to the left may result in nothing being accomplished during his occupation of the presidency should he win.

I think my attitude would be different if he were not stating items like "Well it's time for them to own their failure. It's time for us to change America." http://www.upi.com/Top_News/2008/08/28/Obama_Its_time__to_change_America/UPI-40471219979552/

or ""America is no longer, uh, what it could be, what it once was. And I say to myself I don't want that future for my children.""  http://conservativepolitics.today.com/2008/08/08/obama-america-is-not-a-great-country/

This really confuses me,  America is no longer what it once was.... when ????  When has America ever had a Black man running for the office of the Presidency?  Or a woman either?   Does he want us to go back to where we were in the 60's.....

And this baffles me even more:  "My friends, we live in the greatest nation in the history of the world.  I hope you'll join with me as we try to change it."

I understand wanting a better future for all, but statements like that draw a line in the sand and divide people.   It says it you are not with me you are against me.  If you do not see things my way you are the enemy, and you are the one who should be sharing your wealth.

More appropriate saying would be "Join me as I seek a better future for all!"

I'd like to think I'm a leftist, and speaking for all left wing Americans, Obama is no leftist.  He is mainstream, its just McCain is radical right, as proven by his VP choice.

And to claim that all in America is just hunky-dory, on today of all days, seems misinformed, at best.

Nah, McCain pretty much proved today that if your looking for a new standard in failure that would surpass the last 7 years, McCain is your guy.

Success, its so over-rated.

Failure --- Conservative economists predicted this day

QuoteFannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending
By STEVEN A. HOLMES
Published: September 30, 1999

......
Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.
......

''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.''

The world is not hunky-dorey, but do not place the blame for this on the republicans.   They tried to reform the banking industry in 2005, but it was shot down by you got it the "DEMOCRATS"!!!!

Oh they did no such thing.  This has been going on since the Reagan years with deregulation coupled with gutting the agencies that still had some ability to enforce some conduct.  I blame both of them, but I don't think that the Dems are liberal to left at all.

If you want the key to all of this, it was the repeal of the The Glass-Steagall Act of 1933.  An action brought on by Newt Gringrich and Bill Clinton.  At the bottom of this mess, is changing that law, and might I add, that the only thing that is preventing total financial failure right now is the stuff that FDR did back in the 30s.

And the other person who predicted all of this was Ralph Nader, for almost a decade now.

Other Inane quote from Mr. Obama:

QuoteChange will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.
Ummm --- If I am me -- then isn't Mr. Obama some other person????

Quote
I cannot swallow whole the view of Lincoln as the Great Emancipator.

????

QuoteI've got two daughters. 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don't want them punished with a baby.
The gift of life is a punishment... ummm????

QuoteNo one is pro-abortion.

QuoteToday we are engaged in a deadly global struggle for those who would intimidate, torture, and murder people for exercising the most basic freedoms. If we are to win this struggle and spread those freedoms, we must keep our own moral compass pointed in a true direction.
A compass that include the killing  of babies...

QuoteOver the last 15 months, we've traveled to every corner of the United States. I've now been in 57 states? I think one left to go.

QuoteYou know, my faith is one that admits some doubt.

And which one is that?

QuoteIn one of the most astonishing gaffes in American political history, in a national televised interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulus, Democratic presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama referred to "my muslim faith," confirming what researchers and political opponents have been claiming.

While Stephanopoulus several seconds later tried to correct him, saying "Christian faith," it was too late. The damage was done. Obama clearly did not mean his Christian faith, since he was admitting that "John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith." The term "Christian faith" would not make sense in that context.

Almost a decade ago was 1999.   Clinton was in office urging this practice to take place.  I know I tried to buy a house in 1997 and was rejected at the Fannie Mae rate -- I went on to purchase the house at 11% and flipped for almost twice the value four years later.

Buying my next house I got approved for 5.x% loan with a lower credit score.... I used other means so I did not contribute to this but ... how many others got loans they could not pay for ??????

Any real faith, lived faith, a faith that walk though life with you is going to have doubt.  Why doubt was Thomas and he was an apostle.  And at the moment of victory did not Jesus cry out

My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?  ("Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?")

Seems like doubt to me.

flipped for almost twice the value four years later
This of course, is at the heart of the problem, how the heck could a house double in value in 4 years?  That that not seem surreal to you?  That something was wrong when prices were going up so far so fast?  Assuming that the population of your area did not flat out double in four years, then why did the property go up so fast?  Classical economics - that supply and demand deal - seems to have gone out the window for housing in the 90s, and never stopped climbing until about a year and a half ago.

At that point, the values had gown to a point that they were no longer sustainable.  And, as classical economics predicted, they began to fall.

And yeah, a decade, that's about right.  As we're about to find out, nothing changes overnight - or as the classical types say Rome was not built in a day.
