Rev. Swenson was ordained in 1973 by the Presbytery of Atlanta, but
not as Erin. She transitioned to female in 1995, and after much
debate, the presbytery upheld her ordination a year later — the first
known time a Protestant minister had remained ordained following
gender transition.
