Anger Is Crowd's Overarching Emotion at McCain Rally

WAUKESHA, Wis., Oct. 9 -- There were shouts of "Nobama" and "Socialist" at the mention of the Democratic presidential nominee. There were boos, middle fingers turned up and thumbs turned down as a media caravan moved through the crowd Thursday for a midday town hall gathering featuring John McCain and Sarah Palin.

"It is absolutely vital that you take it to Obama, that you hit him where it hits, there's a soft spot," said James T. Harris, a local radio talk show host, who urged the Republican nominee to use Barack Obama's controversial former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr., and others against him.

"We have the good Reverend Wright. We have [the Rev. Michael L.] Pfleger. We have all of these shady characters that have surrounded him," Harris bellowed. "We have corruption here in Wisconsin and voting across the nation. I am begging you, sir. I am begging you. Take it to him."

This kind of talk is gettin' (Since its cute when Sara does it I thought I'd start, after all, I'm from Iowa and that's a lot more 'Merican, than Alaska) mighty close to inciting.  Mighty close indeed.

Among all the world problems a president will face it is difficult to understand that the public take the election as if it was a football game. maybe that is too high of a thought maybe like wrestling complete with the soap opera side show.

The economic fears are due to many factors including the west using the poor parts of the world as their slaves and allowing pollution as long as it is not in my neighborhood.  Consumption without ethics or morals. Energy depends on lots of water none of the candidates address that issue. A child dies in the world every eight minutes due to unclean water. At the present rate of use millions of Americans will be out of water  during the next president's term.

So what is congress working on family values? Something much more seriously is wrong with America than what church a person goes to.

These are signs of desperation.  McCain is very weak on economic policy and health care.  As of this writing the Dow has lost 50% of it's value since the first of the year.  If you follow such things, Jack Krugman's column in the New York Times today places the blame squarely on the Bush Administration and Secretary Paulson in particular.  McCain's chief economic advisor, Phil Graham, the architect of deregulation that allowed the creation of the toxic waste, says we're all a bunch of whiners! 

Even the New York Daily News is turning on McCain.

I read a report this morning of a McCain political rally in Waukesha, Wisconsin that occurred yesterday. Both Mr. McCain and Ms. Palin were at the rally.

The disturbing thing, for me, is not that those two candidates for the nation's highest two executive offices were making an attempt to win the election: that's the American Way, right? Rather it was the method they not only seem to condone, but even make an attempt to heighten. They both appear to be more than happy, even gleefully indulge themselves in the open spread of hate and the instillation of rage in their supporters at this point.

During the debate on Tuesday night I watched John McCain appear to actually develop within himself a barely controlled rage: he stammered, his breath was shallow and rasping, his eyes glared at Obama at every glance, his face contorted a couple of times with disgust, anger, or just plain rage. He's a man on the edeg and his plea at this time is that he will be "the steady hand on the tiller of the the State."

In the few years in reading and making comments on Transgender forums I have noticed that most people love their emotions and want praise for them. If a person does not show empathy for someone's feelings they are "There were boos, middle fingers turned up and thumbs turned down" to any person that uses logic, rational reasonable thinking. The demanded response is that you agree with their emotional irrational thought and do not mention the reality of the situation for you might destroy their fantasy. You just can not function in real life thinking emotional decisions are going to achieve your goals. There is a time and place to enjoy all of our emotions but not when it includes the lives and welfare of other people, at that point emotional control and rational thinking are needed.

Emotion rules the romantic life, and thought rules the rational life - twas ever thus, but neither side  never changes much.
