aiden-If your parents really are nut cases leave and don't look back. When I transition who knows if my mom will ever find out. I am now far away from her and plan on never looking back. I know people feel reconciling and trying to make it work with parents is the best. I think if you can't you can't and if all they are going to do is make you feel bad about yourself move on.  Mind you I dealt with my mentaly ill mother far too long. I can't tell you about never telling anyone in the town you are in now as you may reconnec twith htem later in life.I have no interntion of calling people up I haven't spoken to in years and telling them. I will only deal with my immediate "family" which is my friends I hang out with and so forth now. I could have never transitioned in the town I grew up in and lived in until my mid 30's I wouldn't even acknowledge my trans status until I left the area.
Anyway don't abandon your life if some of them are true friends and might still like to be in your life, but if there are others who freak why stay in touch if you plan on moving. Keep the good and move on with them, out with the bad. No one deserves to be saddled with that.

Hey California is all about happiness, no matter how you spell it.  You can find it, if you want it.  The choices are huge, monster.  Surf or ski, or race cars, or beachcomb or do the star trip, show biz, banking, high tech, defense or agriculture - whatever, its covered. 

You can live the high life, the low life, the homeless life, the bum life, the new millionaire life, the rock star (or just party like one) life, Show Biz, no biz, hanging in the park or majoring in Frisbee in college.

Whatever.  Its there if you work on it.
