The Connecticut Supreme Court's ruling Friday that same-sex couples have the right to marry was both heralded as a "victory for human dignity" and condemned as an "undemocratic fiat."

"This victory for human dignity is a victory for all people who are discriminated against based on their sex, race, ethnicity, ability, gender expression or any other immutable God-given aspect of their being," said Frank O'Gorman, director of People of Faith CT.
