A week from today will mark exactly 1 year on hormone replacement therapy for me. October 18, 2007. That was the start of my physical transition. A week from today will also be my first consultation with a surgeon for what's now commonly called "gender confirmation surgery". Others might know it better as "sex reassignment surgery". That's not the end of my transition, physical or otherwise, but it is a big step and it's not one you can undo.
