Okay, so apparently... clothes shopping is not inherently evil. Being forced to crossdress your whole life when you don't want to is. I bought my first shirt & tie today!!!  (the ones in my avatar are my father's) It's funny how something so simple can make you so happy  ;D. The thing that suprised me is, normally I hate clothes shopping because I always had to shop in the women's section, but today, after I bought the shirt and tie, I find myself thinking: "Well if I buy this shirt with this tie, I'm going to need a belt, and new shoes, and ......." This is wicked weird for me. But in a good way!

Cool! I remember years ago how much fun I had picking out ties. I had sort of forgotten about that. I mean, I still hate shopping in general, but there can be enjoyable moments.

I'm glad you found some.

Will you be posting a new pic? I'd love to see what you bought.

I was just online tonight trying to figure out how to buy mens dress pants, becasue I need them to go with some shirts I picked up. I am tinking I have to buy a boys size 18? The pants are definitely a bit harder to shop for. I feel like a whole new shopping world has opened up! I have had luck getting nice mens shirts at a conceinment shop. I think I will see if they have ties next time.

Yep.  I absolutely loathed clothes shopping.  I joke with my daughter now that mom's a man, he loves to shop!!  I'm drawn to plaid shirts like a moth to the flame, LOL.

I need some ties.

lol I used to hate clothes shopping to until I started shopping in the men's section. Men's clothing is a lot more pratical then women's clothing, where it's "Why would I ever want to wear that?" lol. Glad you could find this joy.

i used to hate shopping... now i love it!!!  i feel like the gay guy that the sales associates flock to trying to sell me jeans that make my butt look good.  and ofcourse a stylish belt to go with the jeans too.  and i might as well pick up a couple of shirts to go with the pants....

I usually can't anythig I like in either section, except at the thrift store, where I buy masculine or androgynous women's clothing.  Men's clothing is usually so boring because stores sell for men who are slobs or businessmen.  However, I much enjoyed trying on stuff for the tuxedo I'm renting for homecoming today.  They have shiny shoes!

I used to be a compulsive shopper in the past to try and medicate my unhappiness with my gender confusion/ feeling unhappy with my body/ biological gender etc..etc...
Ironically it never used to make me happy at all and often left me feeling much worse about myself!
Since I came out as trans to myself I have not felt the need to buy anywhere near as much stuff as I used to but when I do buy something I get far more pleasure out of it than I ever did, probably because I am not buying it for any other reason than I have a genuine want or need of it.

Hah, a couple years ago I hated clothes shopping because I didn't care how I looked either way. Now it's impossible to get me to leave the store. I think I actually got more feminine after I realized I was male. Irony's a great thing.

Same here. Turns out that expressing a little femininity didn't make the world come crashing down around me like I thought it would.

I'm having some computer/internet issues right now, but I'll see what I can do when everything's up and running again.
