Back post-hysto. Went well. The hospital was great, very well equipped, great care. Except for the food, which was spectacularly awful, even by comparing other hospital food. Actually by comparing any food. I was regretting begging to be put on a solid food diet after my first meal. Thank god I'm out.

There was internet in the hospital, but Susan's was blocked by the net-nanny as being sexual/erotic. Apparently I missed some postings while I was away - you must've been naughty ;). I'll have a word with the ISP that blocked it. I tried logging on by IP and proxy server, but couldn't get in.

Hysto itself was amazingly easy. I was pretty immobile the first day, could get up the second day, and by the third day, today, I can move around fine, just not for long. Kinda tired, but no pain. Mind you, I am keeping up with the painkillers and I did feel pain partway into my 7 hour journey home when they'd worn off. I have three holes the size of a bic pen in my belly and that's it.

A word to the wise for anyone going in for this - take briefs or boxer briefs. The post-surgery padding doesn't work with boxer shorts, and they'll kit you out with a lovely pair of mesh panties if you're not prepared.

Good to be back,

Dennis

Dunno, too early to tell really. I never even thought about those parts when I had them, so I don't expect major psychological effects. I got them out because I've been on T long enough that they could be a risk, and I hated getting checkups. And I secretly hope my beard and chest hair come in better :)

I have had one airline meal that came close to the food in this hospital, but still didn't beat it. I think the airline (can't remember which one it was) served me cat food lasagne.

I'm so glad you put the word 'food' into that sentence, lol. ;)

It will!!

I've only been on T 3 months and I've got a decent crop of chin stubble coming in already (not enough not to shave and it's kind of patchy), but it's far more than I dared to hope for at this stage.  I've also got a fair amount of belly hair and a visible 'stache.  Not too much on my chest but I'm not concerned about that until after top surgery.

I had my hysto one month in on T and I really think that's part of why I have so much hair growing already.  I know a guy now nearly 9 months on t with NO HAIR other than leg hair.

And congrats!!  I felt a huge sense of relief after my hysto.
