So my mom has be come much more supportive. It's really great. She's using correct pronouns and my real name a lot more. But she is doing a new thing that, though I appreciate greatly, and I think it is cool that she thinks of me in this way, I am also very annoyed with it. As a trans person I am thankful for my mother's behavior, but as a girl I am annoyed.

What she is doing is getting on me about piercing my ears and wearing make up!

"You'll get a job faster if you actually did your face up a bit" she says!
"you'd look so much more feminine with earrings" she says!
"wait a minute missy, at least put on some lip gloss before you leave the house!" she says!

"sigh, grumble grumble" I said.

It sounds like your mother only wants the best for you. Consider yourself lucky.

I wish I had a mother that was that supportive.

Wow.  That would have been so weird, to have a mother who accepted me and cared for me the RIGHT way.  I think I'd be a whole different person.

sounds like a pretty good mom to me.  of course she's annoying, a mother who never annoys you isn't doing her job...just you be very happy that she annoys you instead of disowns you.  you are very lucky indeed.

You are her child, she is your mother, parents exist to annoy us

Hm. As an FTM I will first say "LOL" in response to this. Now, to explain myself, I'm not laughing at you or your situation, I've just been there, done that. I'm laughing cause it sounds exactly like my mom used to.

Moms do this!! During my time as a "girl" this is ALL my mom ever nagged me about. She would do it to my sister too, I'm sure, if my sister wasn't always so on top of her game.

Don't be upset by this. Your mom, it seems, has fully accepted you as a woman!!! Imagine if you'd been born in the right body from the beginning -- this would have been how your mom acted around you 24/7!!! I speak from experience, trust me!

"You're going out looking like THAT?!" (lol wait I still get that one as a boy)

"Put some foundation on, you look shiny."

"A little lip gloss wouldn't hurt you, at LEAST lip gloss if you're not gonna wear lipstick."

As everyone else has said, this is a mom's job when she has a daughter Be happy! You're getting treated the same way every other female on the planet gets treated by their mom!

Well Gracie, I don't wear makeup at all really, maybe a tiny bit of eyeliner here and there, I say do what you feel comfortable with. You have the confidence and right positive attitude, maybe let your Mom know you totally appreciate her support but that you want to go at your own pace. Just reassure her that you appreciate it Meghan

Ha perhaps MOM is enjoying having a daugther.  In her own way she is just trying to help.  It's what mom's do.

Heh.. I got ya. My mom was pushing some born again-pure of soul simple clothes shirt on me from Appleseeds today... The only pink thing I generally wear is my Toki Doki sweater cause its actually funny and ironic and cute in a hilarious way... But the other thing was like... Ugh. Imagine how everyone dressed in the early 90s and then go amish....Ughhhhhh


I'm less annoyed by it and more actually... Awkwardly guilty.

For some reason it feels like I'm taking something that isn't me or mine and even though I'm sure of my inner womanhood it still feels awkward going shopping and doing femmey things.

I'm more of a Tomboy but even the mtf I met at group was like, "Oh you're the stereotype, lol."

Well thats discouraging. I've been thirsting for something like this for years just because I never got to experience it, even if I wouldn't have liked it.

How is it so wrong to me and others to bask in the rays of material crap and feminine things? After all, I should feel like Its owed to me... I do but I still feel odd with it....

Maybe Im overthinking cause I have a haircut appointment tomorrow and I basically want her to do it more feminine. How do I say "Gee I'm trans, make it look like this kinda?"

Tbh, steriotype aside, girls can be what they want, the difference between men and women, is that we can have teddybears, pink stuff, and fluttery soft things... We're girls, its allowed, theres no stigma attached to it... a lot of m2fs fall fowl of the old male 'feminine is bad' mlarkey...

I could only wish for a relationship like that with my mother or father. It sounds like she is 110% there for you. Count yourself lucky hun.
