FBI hate crimes stats show rise in homophobic attacks

The 2007 Hate Crime statistics released today in the US indicate a rise in the number of gay and lesbian people reporting incidents of homophobic attacks.

Of the 1,512 victims targeted due to a sexual-orientation bias, 58.9% were victims of an offender's anti-male homosexual bias, according to the FBI.

24.8% were victims of an anti-homosexual bias, 13.0% were victims of an anti-female homosexual bias.

This doesn't really surprise me.
The fundie's are getting desperate.
There's a real movement to allow full rights for glbtqi people, and a large protion of the country backs that. Each time a state passes a non-discrimination law for GLBTQI people, the Fundies get a little more desperate.
They feel lilke this is thier last chance to save the Country from total depravity and damnation as they see it.
The country is going to hell in a handbasket, and as they are the "saved" ones, they feel they have a responsibility to do somthing about it.

I expect it to get more crazy, then worse, then finnally, people will probably put thier foot down and say " no! this kind of crazyness is not tollerable, no matter what thier religious excuses are" terrorism is terrorism, and right now, it's Christian-Fundamentalist-terrorism that is turning into a big problem in this country..
I would expect it to get worse, then better as people stand up to it and do somthing about it.
