Genetics, Transsexuality and "Normality"

The motives behind transsexuality is something I've never really been able to get my head around. It's not really a sexuality thing, it's a gender identity thing. While I'm fairly convinced sexuality is something we don't choose (and I still wouldn't see the big deal if it was), transsexuality to me seemed like an entirely separate issue that people still like to lump in with "LGBT" or whatever the acronym is supposed to be these days.
