It is possible (and I have proven this to myself on several occasions) to wax exceedingly poetic about gender. What, precisely, makes me a woman? What, precisely, makes Jess a man? How important in the grand scheme of things is gender anyway? Let me tell you, the events of the last year have me firmly convinced that gender is extremely important indeed. If you don't believe me, try changing yours.
