Sham marriages are against the law. Plus with the new laws she has to have be the right sex. It still does not make you a citizen but makes it easier to get a visa to stay. But if she broke the law in her home country that could make it much more difficult.

nobody can tell you not to have a sham marriage. Half the marriages I've seen are shams.

As for finding someone the right sex, it doesn't matter here. She can marry anybody of any sex or gender over 18.  We have same sex marriages.  She can marry any man or woman. But just one. no more than one at a time.

Seriously, though. I do not care if the government thinks some harmless action is wrong.  If I cared, I wouldn't have done a lot of the things I did when I was young.

Besides, if I were to marry someone to keep them in the country, I believe I could honestly declare that I am doing it out of love.  Someone said marriage is done a lot for economic reasons. So, what's wrong with doing it for any altruistic reason?  I love people but feel that I don't do enough to help them. So if I could just marry someone and make their life easier; no problem.
