So my brother has been awesome. Was totally unfazed in the face of Full Disclosure - basically said "yeah, that makes sense," and started cracking jokes with me over "worst ways to come out." After we got over the hilarity, he asked what he could do to help me out and offered several thoughtful suggestions on how to handle the Parental Units. Basically, he's a great guy and I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate his attitude.

My question is, what the hell do I get him for Christmas now? I want to get him something really good, but I'm drawing a blank. He spends most of his time playing video games (mostly FPS and MMORPGs on PC, though he sometimes breaks out the Xbox), with occasional breaks for sci-fi tv series and epic fantasy novels.

Any recommendations for awesome books/games/shows you've read/played/seen recently? Any other suggestions?

Something from the heart, definitively.  Sci Fi series of his favorite.  Or a movie he hasn't seen.  And a really big hug.  He sounds like he is awesome.  You're lucky to have him in your corne.

Thanks, Janet. As  per usual, the tough part is finding something he hasn't already seen.

But, yeah, I'm extremely lucky to have him.

I'm not a gamer but, Gears of War 2 is a real big hit for the X-Box right now. Fallout 3 is anticipated to be good, maybe it's out too.

One of the best Sci-Fi series was Firefly. Those 13 episodes would make a great gift but any fan of Sci-Fi would have heard about and seen it already.

Thanks guys - the WoW expansion is looking like a good bet, right now.

(And Emme and Kristen are both completely right about the awesomeness of Firefly and Serenity. Unfortunately also right about his already having seen them. ;))

If he likes anime/manga there's a bunch of stuff you could get him

if he's a proper WoW player then he will most likely get the expansion way before christmas

you could get him some WoW cards if he collects them. There's also codes to redeem for items and stuff in each pack
