eHarmony Changes Its Tune?

Wow. I've been busy with daily, detail-oriented, deadline-driven work until just now. So, I missed this. It probably isn't news to anyone else, but half the day goes by before I get to catch up news, etc.

eHarmony has changed its tune on queers. Sorta.

    The California-based company will begin providing same-sex matches under as part of a settlement with New Jersey's Civil Rights Division.

    Garden State resident Eric McKinley filed a complaint against the online matchmaker in 2005.

    Under terms of the settlement, the company can create a new or differently named Web site for same-sex singles. The company can also post a disclaimer saying its compatibility-based matching system was developed from research of married heterosexual couples.

okcupid has better matching algorithms, a user defined question database that allows for much more specialized matching, and it's free.

Being paired up by an algorithm sounds so unromantic somehow.

I dunno..... Maybe it's just the Aspergers acting out here, but I think being matched by an algorithm is a fantastic idea! (Read : Amazingly logical)

Especially when I get to weight the questions myself, and add to the question database, and require people to answer specific questions before they can message me.

What was wrong with the old time honored method of cocktails and bad judgement?  Works for me.

It creates a lot of depression not to mention that time could be better spent.

Doing what?  I kind of like the time I spend in my favorite haunts (and even one's I don't like so much too).  Really, filling out forms would somehow be more rewarding than actual social interaction?  I'm not seeing how.

Neither am I really. Although distance methods (by whatever means) certainly help find the proper people, distance is itself a ... pain. An, the more traditional socializing conveniently tends to avoid that, of course. Luckily one typically isn't stuck with just either or...

It depends on what your goals are.
