Ahmedabad : Babobhai at the age of 16 realised that he was a woman trapped in a man's body. Almost 25 years after realising that, this villager from Botad underwent a sex-change operation to liberate his feminine inner self at the age of 41. He christened himself Jayshree.  Two years later, Jayshree has realised it is difficult being a woman in a man's world!

Talking to TOI, Jayshree said, "It is really a man's world. It is not easy for a woman with men hounding you all the time." Jayshree would know for sure because since the time her sex-change surgery became public, she alleges to be harassed by a group of men who wants her to join their gang. These men pose as eunuchs and want to raise more money cashing in on her celebrity status in a small town in Bhavnagar.

No kidding!!  And I think gender inequality is even greater in India than it is in the US.

QuoteBabo had undergone a sex-change operation in April 2006. What made it truly revolutionary was that the people of Botad had contributed around Rs 50,000 to help finance the surgery to give her female genitals which cost about Rs 1.5 lakh.
Now that is pretty impressive!  Her townsfolk contributed 1/3 of the cost.  How many neighbors would do the same?
