Hi All ... just wanted to take a quick moment and introduce myself.  My legal male name is Mike, but I more or less consider myself female and therefore go by my choosen name Jennifer or Jenni.  I am 37 years young and I am from the Minneapolis, MN area.  I have lived here all my life, but when this time of year roles around and the weather begins turning colder, I often find myself asking why I haven't moved seomwhere warmer as of yet.

I am college educated through North dakota State University with a bacheolr's degree in Engineering.  I am currently employed in the civil construction field, meaning I work for a company that does a lot of earthwork and underground utility work.  I am married with two young daughters, ages 7 & 5.  My spouse does not approve of my transgender and transitioning aspirations, and therefore a future divorce is impending.  I am saddened by this thought, but have also come to terms with it since I have come of age.  I realize that not everyone stays together and I am okay with that.

Currently, I have am seeing a therapist, a trans-friendly family doctor, and have started the beginning stages of HRT.  I have also begun my coming process to a few select friends, but I still have the major hurdles of my wife and family to go through before I get too far along the spectrum.  My major goals for 2009 include coming out to those closest to me, getting on full HRT, getting into and through my impending divorce, removing my facial hair through electrolysis, and beginning my coming out planning at work.  Oh yeah, also downsizing my house so I can afford the house payment along with child support & alimony.  Some of my other more loose goals are to get involved locally in the LGBT network and also partake in some of the more national events if I can financially afford to do so.

That's a little bit about me.  I have gained tons of confidence as I moved forward from where I've started and much of that has come through my own self-acceptance of who I am and where I need to go too.  I look forward to being a part of this community, learning from others and being able to contribute where & when I can.  Take care everyone and pelase drop a line and just say 'Hi'.  Thanks for accepting me into Susan's.  Best Wishes.

Well, on the bright side, unless your planning to move to Bemijmi fewer places are colder than Fargo or the Twin Cities.  [/]

Welcome to the site, Jenni. You have many goals and that's good. I set goals every year and usually achieve them.
