Ok..here's my first i suppose i could call it..benifcial(i suck at spelling btw..X.X) post here...

All my life i have been very femine..when i was a child i was picked on contintly for acting like a girl instead of a boy...in my teenage years i shunned my femine side which brought out the worst in me...well when i hit 20 i let my femine side come back out and stopped shunning it....my point i am making is this:

I have a male body but i think like a female...always have my whole life...i even have one week out of every month that i am seriously moody and can be either pshically drained or wired as ->-bleeped-<-! so i ask you....why the hell was i born with a male body yet my body tends to behave like a female's to a point and i think and behave totoally femine?

Krystal,

You don't need to be "trapped" in your wrong body ...

If you feel its that bad, seek therapy, seek help.  You will never have a better chance to discover your true self than at your age, and the longer you leave it the harder it will become, the more regrets you will suffer.

If you really believe you are a woman this group shows that you are not alone and that its a problem that can be sorted.

Hugs,

Laura x

i don't see it as a bad thing per-say....i love thinking and behaving like a woman..i just hate having these "weeks" when i am moody and such..i was hoping that others could explain and possibly offer suggestions if they have experinced the same thing as me.

Well theres not alot of data to go on from what you have said so far so their are a number of possible things it can be attributed to anywhere from empathy and recieving the emotions of genetic females around you, to learned behavior from your mind observing and imitating the actions of those around you, to even possible intersex or hormonal imbalnce. The best answer I can tell you is you can get good advice here on Susans but the best advice would come from a therapist and a understanding medical doctor. As for if you are asking if you have GID then no one can truly tell you that only you can tell yourself.

Well there isn't much to go on, but the one week of moodiness could be something like Dysthymia. Dysthymia as I understand it is a low level depression that comes and goes in roughly 2 week cycles (i.e. 2 weeks of smooth sailing and 2 weeks of the doldrums). It can have some variation, but I'm really not sure how precise yours are.

Hi Krystal,

I can totally relate to what you're saying, in fact, many of us have experienced what you're going through.  My best advise to you, as a first step is to find a good therapist.  Once you do that explain what you're feeling to he or she.  They can get you started on your transition (if that's what you're going to do).
Best of Luck!

A few years after transition (1974), I thought about that phrase ("a woman trapped in a man's body") and I realized I didn't have a friggin CLUE about really being a woman prior to transition. Sure, I had all the classic symptoms (long before anybody knew what they were). At one point early on I thought I must be a girl because I sure as hell wasn't a guy but by my mid teens I felt more "freak" than anything else. "Transition" was a snap and girl's life fit like a comfy old slipper. I integrated so quickly and easily that it was incomprehensible to others that I could have ever been anything else. But fact is, prior to transition, I could NOT know - only speculate.

On the subject at hand, Krystal, you aren't that unusual in what you think and feel. I was pretty much the same way prior to transition, right up to having unexplained levels of cyclic estrogen. After transition, it all became irrelevant.

It wasn't until many decades later that I learned a number of facts that pointed to a possible/likely Intersex condition. The "easy tests" were no longer possible (after SRS) so I am slowly wading through the more complex testing.

My first question to you would be if you have had your hormone levels checked. If they are abnormal (for your presumed sex), you could have one of a number of 'Variations in Human Sexual Development"
