It shouldn't matter. Not liking your old name is a perfectly reasonable reason that people use all the time. Furthermore, there have been VERY few cases in recent history of name changes being denied because of gender, and these have been well-publicised. It's not likely to happen. It's perfectly legal for a non-transgendered man to change his name to Alice or a woman to change her name to Dave. As long as you're not trying to impersonate someone, change your name to an obscenity, or escape your creditors, there's almost no chance you'll be denied.
