An androgynous 17th century Swedish Queen was the inspiration behind the last play to hit the Belvoir Street Theatre.

Completing the highly acclaimed 2008 B Sharp season, downstairs at Belvoir Street Theatre, is the Australian premiere of Queen C. Written by Finnish playwright Laura Ruohonen, it is inspired by the story of a real 17th century 'girl King' – Queen Christina of Sweden – a woman brought up as a man, a King, during the Thirty Years War.
