I have enough weird health problems in my family, it wouldn't behoove me to exacerbate them by undergoing the addition of testosterone, and I'm too terrified of surgery to even contemplate it. However, I feel like most of the FtMs on this site... I feel like a man inside, and want my outside to match that. Is there anyone else in this situation? I'm sure I'm not the only one... and if so, what do you do about that?

Acceptance within yourself is truly how you feel whole

and realize that no matter what your body looks like a man is based on his actions and words and how he carries himself not on his penis .........
SRS and surgeries are more like confidence boosters.....or cosmetically comforting to you and everyone else

if you take a normal female and medically alter her to be a male but she still feels female inside then is she truly a male? or even consider a man?

if you take a Normal male and surgically alter him to be a biological female...but he still has the mind of man he can never truly be female or consider a female...

Because in order for one to be whole one must accept who they are inside mentally and at heart...thats what makes anyone whole in my opinion

I would still be a woman if you gave me Arnold Swartnezzagers body.... it would look wierd as hell but you wouldn't be able to deny that I was anything but a woman in the wrong body!!

Much LUV
Just my opinion

Hello Rafe,
Welcome. I'm not too keen on surgery either. All I want is my chest done. All of us have aspects of our bodies we can tolerate and those we can't.
Can you really feel whole without T therapy? I doubt I can, but that's because I want facial hair and my voice is too soft. But from your introduction, I understand these things aren't an issue for you.
So, you probably can get by without hormones.

All of us differ as far as how far we need to go physically to feel whole. If you can feel complete and whole without surgery and hormones, that's great.

Only you can answer that. What is right for one guy isn't necessarily right for another.

Good luck and nice meeting you.

Rafe,
Hey testosterone is definitely the biggest and fastest change you can make. But if you ever feel the need to be completely whole, than surgery will be in your future. My top surgery is on August 7. I am counting down the days. Top surgery is not quite as invasive as bottom surgery. Most guys feel pretty complete with just being on T and top surgery. I think bottom surgery is a bit more scary   but in time I will have it done. You will do whatever you feel the need.

Thanks everyone... yeah, Nero, at present, I'm okay with the voice and facial hair thing... all I have trouble with is binding. I know there have been numerous posts about this before, but I'm currently unemployed and don't have the money to get something like from Underworks. Any advice? I have tried an Ace bandage, but it constricts my breathing too much. Shouldn't be too hard, I'm only a 38B. Oh, and one other peculiarity I noted... even without binding, without lowering my voice entirely, without the facial hair, the longer my hair gets, the more I am called "sir".
