Yesterday was my second injection, and Pam gave it to me in the doctor's office. He made her go through all the proper steps leading up to the injection. I am very proud of her, she did great. Even as nervous as she was, damn near threw up before we got in the office. Anyway, since she passed  with flying colors, he wrote the perscription for the next 4 months. Way cheaper than 70.00 every other week, with a drive into L.A. traffic. Nightmare.

LOL Steph. I dread that day. Luckily it's free for me to just go to the dr's office and have the nurse jab me in the butt. Unless it becomes difficult for me to get to the dr's office, I'm not gonna bother learning. I know I should, but geez.

I think the doctor really wanted Marco to learn to give it to himself, but he said that he just wasn't ready for that right now.  I don't mind giving him the shot as long as it doesn't hurt him, but having to do it in front of the doctor was too nerve racking!

Hey Steph,
The doctor showed me the method to find the perfect place to put the shot.  You start at the top of the butt crack (sorry so graphic, but don't know what else to call it) and you go straight across (either direction) to just before the skin starts to curve around the side.  The doc said that the gluteous muscle is 12 inches deep, so there would be no risk of me hitting bone or anything.  It was easier than I expected getting the needle in there, but pushing the hormone in is kind of hard.  The substance is thick.

Sorry but I've got to ask...

If Marco ever pee'd you off that day would you stick him harder than normal :)  "So ya wanna play silly buggers huh! - take that" :D

You're too funny Steph!  Let's just say that he's lucky I gave him his shot yesterday.  I'm a wee pee'd at him right now, so it would not be a good shot time.  The doctor gave me this little secret that if you tap on the area right next to the injection site before you give the injection, then it temporarily deadens the nerve at the site.  If he pisses me off when it's time for his next one, I won't tap there! :icon_anger:

Did you try tapping him on the head :D

OK I'm sorry I'll stop now before Marco starts reading this.

Marco,
   Congrats again!

I have to ask... what is the cost difference between home and Dr.?  I am curious just how much savings there is.   Plus is there a huge difference between shots and the patch I was once reading about?   I don't think I would mind needles as long as its not taking blood since I end up laughing so hard it makes people twice as nervous about NOT finding my veins.  (I think I hold the record for injections without finding a vein where I go see the Docs.)
Guess I am happy my fiancee works in a hospital as a Med Tech. so she is very familiar with needles and such, so she can do it for me if it comes to that.

Dev,
Here, in Beverly Hills where my doctor is, it is 70.00 for him to inject me. A prescription that will last 4 and a half months is 60.00-70.00. Thre you have it. Huge savings. He calls it in to a mail order pharmacy which is even cheaper than one you would go pick it up. It did not hurt at all when Pam did it. So you are in luck as well if your girlfriend will give them to you.
