Just a quick qstn, do psychiatrists deal with transgender issues or would they refer you to someone who deals with those issues specifically?
I want to bring up the issue next time i see him but wanted to know if he'll move me on...I'm nervous about it but its something that needs to be done...finally

Over here they would generally refer you to some one who does deal with
gender dysphoria.

Honesty is the only policy. How can your health care provider know what's going on in your head, if you don't level with them. Even if they do refer you, it would be in your best interests. Many mental heath professionals are not qualified to deal with gender dysphoria issues. They would be doing you a great injustice to attempt it, if they are not trained to handle it.

Trust your doctor, and tell them. It will be a huge relief to get it out in the open, so that you can then talk about it, to the right person.
