An Embarrassed Lurker

Hallo. I have a question that's been bugging me for some time.

My backside is, er, rather large. I'm not on T yet, although I hope to be next year, but that's a while off. I know that T shifts your fat around and such, but does it do much for your bum? I intend to start working out soon ( gonna buy a treadmill 8D ), so hopefully that will help. And if T doesn't do a lot for that area, is there anything ( short of surgery ) that will help out?

Thanks. :3

So yeah welcome stretch marks :(

I never had a "big" butt so I cant really help you there!

Hormones don't so much shift the fat you do have around as it does deposit new fat in the right areas. Pre-HRT fat will remain in largely the same places, though it will in theory get used up first, so in the (very) long run, you should get the shape you want. Short term though, your best bet is to combine a healthy diet with fat-burning exercise - going from Female to Male, your best bet is to start lifting and build lean muscle mass, which burns through fat stores quickly, especially if you put some cardio in directly after a weight session.

I shall definitely give that a go. I'm saving up to build a mini-gym in my shed. xD In the meantime, is it worth investing in one of those compression shorts ... things on Underworks, if only to help my self-esteem? I don't want to buy one and find out that it's useless.

I'd say anything that makes you feel better, isn't useless. Confidence plays a huge role in passing (or so I hear, I can't pass regardless) and the less self conscious you feel, the better.
Do anything you can to feel better about your body until you can change it, i say.

I know T has made my butt and hips way smaller and it's only been 6 weeks. I wasn't overweight or anything to begin with and I had already been working out, but suddenly it started to get way smaller, all the padding is gone so when you land on it it actually hurts more!  I can actually wear skinny jeans now and look like right in them. I watch a lot of you tube videos and that's something they say is there jeans keep fitting better and better. I think there is a lot of hope for you...Camden :icon_blahblah:

Oh no, I understand that. I just don't want to buy one and find that it doesn't work. And the cost of shipping it back to the US from the UK is a pain.

My personal experience is that they help a little, but not a whole lot.

My body has always been male shaped (ie no waist, no hips, no butt), so that was a plus.

After top surgery, the lack of lumps has accentuated my gut.  I look like I have a beer belly and I drink no beer.

As soon as I'm able it's time to hit the gym, even if upper body exercises have to wait a bit.

Yikes.
