As I mentioned in my Rick Warren update post last night, Rachel Maddow took the gloves off during her show and covered the exploding issue in the direct manner that she excels at on so many other issues.

Apparently she found her voice tonight on this topic and spent a good amount of time on her soapbox to take a stand for progressive principles since those who believe in reproductive freedom and LGBTs, among others, have tire marks on our backs from this incident. Thank you, Rachel -- the effort didn't go unnoticed or unappreciated around here.

I <3 rachel maddow.

All that and she's gay too!  How cool is that!  There's still a chance for me!

I still have lots of work before she'll consider me, maybe after SRS. =)

I'm not even out to anyone but my mom, and I tell everyone I know that that "I would get a sex change and go gay for rachel maddow."

I have the HUGEST girlcrush on her.

I doubt its going to matter, there is a reason Warren is going to give that prayer, and that reason is not going to change.  In the end its not going to matter much, he'll give some mealy-mouth platatude about god and country and that's going to be it.

Really, how many such invocations do you remember?

true enough.

the way I see it, any pastor/priest/etc.. would have been equally as troubling because all of the organized religion is lead by nutjobs that believe in an invisable man.

no offense to nutjobs that believe in the invisable man intended of course. void where prohibited by law, and of course, your mileage may vary.

I'm kinda down with that.  Tempest in a teapot, other issues will drive this one out fast.

maybe the guys from the auto companies should do the ceremony.  They really need an invisible friend right now.
