dunno.  so long as breath and heat is there in the body we are supposed to be "alive".

just live/exist. this has to be viewed from the way one leads his life. one can make best use of the given opportunity. otherwise just "exist".

Quoteone can make best use of the given opportunity

This is subjective ask the Governor of Ill.

Hi Katia,

Hope you have been well!

Figuratively I existed for the past 5 years and am trying to wake up from the dead.  I am again interacting with people and trying to be useful and alive.

Now literally I believe we are all spiritual beings and our spirit can live outside of this body.  Everything seems much too amazing and intricate to just be random.  I also believe that are a lot of things that exist that we can not see or touch and those things are not alive.

Then how can you make a statement about what you do not know?

"Then how can you make a statement about what you do not know?"

Are there stars in the sky that we can not touch or see?  Each time we make a stronger telescope we find more "stuff" in the universe.

Does a black hole really exist?

Does time stand still if we approach the speed of light?

Many things we can not see or touch but we speculate they exist.

As humans increase there understanding of the universe they realize there is much more to learn.

Then how do you know things are not alive? If things do exist that we do not sense then they also can be alive.

Well, as Descartes proved, if there's only one thing that I can know is that I exist. "Alive" would depend on the definition of the word :)

The way you mean it, I am alive and proverbially kicking ;)

Very much alive.  Closing in on 72.  Mourning the loss of investment dollars,  Still working and being appreciated for it.  Upgrading the condo.  Will get the mainland house ready to sell next spring/summer.  Signed up for another cruise and will soon sign up for Gender Odyssey 2009 with my husband.

Life is good and worth living.  At the end, come screeching in on your 120 year old back, all bruised and bleeding, shouting, "Whoa.  What a ride."

I am so alive that I could go to the streets right now and scream: I AM ALIVE!  ;D.   To me "being alive" means that I am enjoying life to the fullest (i.e, I am HAPPY) "just living or existing" is getting through the days without any enjoyment (i.e. a shell, zombie, nothing to live for, etc)

Hi Tink and Robyn, it's nice to hear others around here that are happy, it proves that we can be happy if we set our minds and hearts to it.

I love that saying.
I refuse to be anything else but happy. I left 25 years of hell behind me so I think I deserve to be happy. I get my gloomy days but they don't last long. Like a little kid, pouting in the corner and your parents not noticing gets boring after a while. It's much more fun to be mischievous and full of life and laughter.  ;D You Tink keep on feeling good, we have a coffee waiting for us at what ever coffee shop in Dream Land this summer.

I believe we create our own hells in what ever fashion one wishes to experience it and see it. The same can work the opposite way. The duality resides in our own minds. The universe is in perfect balance one state of energy and mass balances the other.

A star dies in a supernova the dust clouds created by the supernova are called Nebula gases and dust, the very elements that new stars are shaped in or born from. Some stars will implode and become massive black holes. Many of these black hole are found at the center of Galaxies which holds the galaxy together keeping it from straying off into empty space. This is why you will see a galaxy with a very bright center in the middle. That bright center is the even horizon filled with super heated mass and energy under extreme pressure from the black holes extreme gravitational pull. This is why you see galaxies in a spiral or circular form.

The attraction of Massive black holes and repulsion of dark mater is what keeps the universe from flying apart to quickly. Well so much for my quick lesson in quantum and the unified theory of all physics.

But you are quite right about the dualities being stretched to the limits of absurdity and grand confusion by those whose only desire is, "what's in it for me?" The would be tin gods that wish to be king poopy of poopy hill.

Are you alive or do you just exist?

I don't know of any answer to this except that if I wanted to live, and not just exist from day to day, but to **live.**  To be me, no more deceiving myself and playing some poopy-assed game, but to be **truly happy** with me, and live as me to be part  of others of the **same gender/sex, cisgendered females.** Because that is where I belonged, that is where I always belonged.

I never considered myself to be the male sex, although I had to play the poopy-assed role of male because my physical body pretty well dictated that this was what I was supposed to be. That was what I was raised and conditioned to think what I was supposed to be, but it **never felt right.** All that misery because of that cursed thing between my legs. Once I made up my mind that I wanted to be me, **the real me,** not a herd of elephants nor the Titanic full of family and friends could have stopped me from crossing that line, and once I did it felt right.

That fence stuff I believe will only add to your misery and depression and anxiety will only grow worse. In the end if you wish to not just survive, like a chair, or some other piece of furniture , or some beat up animal whimpering in the corner **but to truly live,** you will have to get off the fence and walk proud and straight in the direction your instincts desire for you to go. How you choose to do this is the decision only you can make.

When I made my decision it was on a Friday and I went into see my administrator at my work and told her my plans. Saturday I put all my male clothes in a couple of garbage bags and went to Salvation Army and exchanged them for one bag full of women's clothes.

Monday I went into work dressed in the appropriate clothing. "Goodness gracious, pass????" "Hell no!!!!" This was about a month and a half before I even started HRT. I stuck it out, I did my job, probably more effectively than I did before, and I had more friends than I ever had before. The mental health recipients I worked with trusted me even more than they did before. Well the women did, but the guys came around after while as well.

That's my story, in a little town of 16000

My sister and the rest of my family, except my two daughters, had all disowned me, like I didn't exist anymore, well to tell the truth if that's the way they want to be then be it, ""f..ck them!!!"  "I am doing this for me, it's my survival, it's my life, and I am not about to crawl in a corner to die for anyone else." "They claim they love you? Then demand they prove it." I want to live, you have two choices, like it or lump it.

Can you prove that? Well according to the theory of everything reality is made of, as Einstein put it, infinite potentialities within the ether of creation. Matter and energy cannot be made nor destroyed, but energy can change forms. so does that dead body.

That's all subject to the current physical laws of our universe. There wasn't always Space, or more importantly Time - or Matter for that...matter (pun intended).
There is no guarantee that the current 'laws' of physics will remain constant.

Quite right, well at least I haven't modified my quantum level puddle jumper sufficiently enough yet to travel to the time, or should that be, the no time before the big bang. ;D

That would be awesome to observe; though I wonder if observation is even possible?
