Hi, it's nice to meet you all! My name is Jo, or wolf, or WG; whichever you prefer.

I found this site while doing research for my MTF transition that I will soon undertake.
I tend to like forum communities, and this one looks friendly so I figured I'd give it a shot.
I haven't been part of one since I was a kid in high school, so it's nice to try this again. I'm now a kid in college, and it's nice to find a forum that seems more mature than the shoujo-ai anime forum I had known back in yesteryear.
I'm excited to be communicating with the like minded, yet diverse group that I imagine you all to be, and I'm sure that we will have a blast!

My story, lessons learned, and my special things about the world...

Well, I told you that I am going to transition myself from male to female, which I imagine quite a few of you already are, or have finished doing just that.  I finally committed to the idea a few months ago after many years of lingering doubt.  I'm still a little nervous about the whole thing, but I've decided that I must move forward with this or it will just be more unpleasant father down the road.  I hope that here I will find some of the support and guidance which has so far been unavailable to me in rl. That's my story.
The lessons that I have learned are enough to help me get by and be happy, which is more than I would ask for.
Things that are special to me in this world are many, but I am particularly fond of online identities. An internet persona is a fantastic thing, and was instrumental in preserving my sanity through adolescence. This is because I was able to be a girl with a flick of the wrist whenever I wanted. I even created a couple mmorpg accounts for the sole purpose of having a female appearance. It was such a relief to be able to interact with other people as female, and not be judged or feared. ^_____^ Definitely one of the happier moments of my childhood.
So I think that covers it for now. If you want to know more feel free to ask, though I imagine it will all come out in various topics yet to come.

See you all out there on the boards!

Hi Jo
Happy New Year and welcome.
I've only been a member for a short time but this is a nice group of people.
I'm 56 and live outside work as me, but because of circumstance I have to work as itself.

Still we have to look at life as either problems or solutions
I like solutions
Love

There are two differing kinds of "wolfgirl"s.  One you might want to be, its a cartoon.  The other, not so much.

Hi Wolf,

Welcome to our little family. Over 1300 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.

Well, I really don't know of a specific identity called "a wolf girl" but for me it's just a claim to having a penchant for wolves, and being a girl.

I suppose I could elaborate and tell you that wolves are made up of female dominated societies where there is one alpha female who calls the shots, and that I am a feminist who wants to be a strong woman, and presently has a slight prejudice against heterosexual men;
or that I romanticize wolves as being intensely loyal creatures, and I consider loyalty to be one of my defining characteristics;
or that according to some silly legend I am a descendant of a Norse tribe with a reputation for shape-shifting into wolves;
or one of several other silly reasons for which I have a personal admiration for the very idea of wolves, she-wolves specifically. ^_^

So you might already be one, or you can always come up with some kind of an identity that matches the name >:-).
I'm sure you could be one if you wanted to, I'm just not sure what it would be.

I honestly didn't think that my name would be of any interest, and when Linda said that her gf was also a wg, I just assumed it was an acronym for something spelled W.G. like .... Wendy Gale or something. ^_^

I most certainly would know of that series. It was one of my favorites for a while. Is it one of yours?

EDIT: I almost forgot! Thank you all so much for the warm welcome. It's very comforting on this cold winter's day! ^_^

If that be the case then I guess that make me a wolfgirl too.  I love Timber wolves.

Nice fiction, bad science.  Wolves are the prototype nuclear family, as packs are related, a strong male will go out and form its own new pack with an alpha female.  What you are saying is without support in natural environments, its only found in zoos.

Like Lions,
The females do the work, the male does the mating and gets fed, the young males get together and fight it out.
Sounds familiar.
I'd be happy to be a wolf girl, I'm also a feminist, I despise the male over reaction ( I don't despise males) just the morons. I'm not sure I could hunt in a pack - too independent.

Maybe I'm a spider - but that's no way sexy!
