Maybe it was just too bland to be memorable.  I did judge a cooking contest for the Entomology Department at the university I taught at.  THAT I remember.  Turns out that roaches are not only tasty with the right seasonings, they are very crunchy.

I heard that grasshoppers are also very crunchy if deep fried.  But somewhat bland.

It was (and still is) a real big deal at the school, which has a huge Ag Department and Entomology is very important to agriculture.  Its a cultural deal, you just have to get over yourself for a few minutes.  I've been served much worse food in buffets.
