First time doing this and posting online, tell me honest opinions, can I pass, do I look too bulky etc...

If this is wrong forum to post please move this.

Thanks

Katie

hi KatieSteph, way to jump right in and stuff, lol

I think you look pretty good, there are some feminine triats there for sure. I think you can even tone down the makeup a tad too, it almost appears you are trying to hide behind a mask. practice makes perfect and don't forget to SMILE!!!

passing is relative and depends on more than pictures, but judging by appearance alone I would think female at first glance. there is nothing wrong with being "bulky" that doesn't really matter.

HEy Eliza, thanks for the quick reply.  I actually have been doing this for a while...  never been out though.

WHich are feminie traits and which aren't and what could I work on?  I know I did a heavy makeup look because I enjoy that, not that I'm hiding behind a mask lol.  I can do a light makeup, just usually like the colors.  I didn't smile because I wanted a neutral picture, I guess I have lots to work on =(

Thanks for the comments =)

Hey hunny

started hrt yet?

makes a big difference especially to muscle bulk, i can see a time you pass easily i honestly can but you need to slim down in my humble opinion if you wish to dress that way.

Learn Yoga and Pilate's and feminise your muscle mass :)

p.s yes heavy make-up usually makes you look like a t-girl, I'm sure others will disagree though :)

QuoteLearn Yoga and Pilate's and feminise your muscle mass :)

Seconded.

It looks like you don't have a particularly heavy brow, but then again you also seem to be of Asian ethnicity -- which would make it more expected.

KatieSteph

Yeah I know the muscle mass thing... lol

No HRT, to be honest I'm not sure what I am..... I've been reading these forums and other sites for years...  One thing though, I do enjoy being like this, though do I *need* this, is another unanswered question....  but that's for another topic on another day...

So how exactly would you tone down the makeup, I am sort of purposely doing heavy makeup, because I like it... what other tips can anyone give me, other than my muscle mass lol....

How's the legs?  Waist?  Most importantly the face?  I could wear like sweaters, blouse with slacks or skirts if the muscle is too much but that is least of my concern right now...

You look good katie. I can't tell if you would 'pass' because I have already been primed.

The last one on the couch I like the most, except it looks like you have a bit of shadow on you upperlip. I think that's the one thing I really noticed. You are fairly broad but that did not pop out to me.

Hey Girl,

YOU LOOK GREAT!

Something to remember by repeating to yourself,
as you're going through your preparations is,

LESS IS MORE

Trust me, I know the angst you're feeling about being able
to turn yourself into the perfect vision of femininity.
What is PERFECT femininity? And how do you attain it?
There are millions of GG's that would also like to know.
I don't know the path your on but if your looking to
go fulltime, practise to achieve your fulltime look.
I love the glam and sexy stuff just as much as the next girl.
In the everyday world it's just not practical and it draws attention.
Attention at this point on your path is not something you want.
Size, really has nothing to do with passabilty, selfconfidence is the key.
Work on preparing yourself to walk down the street
and blend in with a group of women by watching women of you size.
Their everyday clothes their everyday walk and mannerisms
and save the glam for clubing when you have more confidence.
You'll know you look fabulous and wont care to ask others how you look.
Look at me, I'm an old trucker hag of 43, 5'8", 180lb.
With guns and hands like a linebacker and I KNOW I look good
I get hit on (BLUSH) all the time and I haven't been SIRed in years.

P.S. Don't worry about your legs,
           THEY'RE AWSOME!

Could you be mine?
Won't you be my neighbor?" - Fred Rogers

I think you pass pretty well. :)

I love your dress by the way, and the shoes.

I think that the asian or whatever ethnicity helps a lot, gives you an exotic look that works nicely  :)

I think you look fine.

Open up more.  You have your arms crossed in every shot.  It makes you look like you're hiding something.

Someone once told me that passing is 80% attitude, and 20% looks.  Don't forget to smile and have fun.

thanks, makes me happy that I look somewhat feminine...

my dress and makeup appearance was intended to look a bit for clubbing/night look, not really daily wear to office or mall shopping etc.

Last night I did try a daring thing and was a bit scared but was a good feeling...  I was like this and went down the elevator to the parking lot to my car to grab something and came back, no one saw me but there were security cameras though hehe

I wonder if someone was coming on the elevator with me or pass by me when I got off, would they question or know or care....

You sound so much like me several years ago.  Don't worry about the muscle mass I happen to think muscular women are very attractive.  You have soooo much going for you!  Asian girls, in my opinion, often have a huge advantage because their natural features are more feminine than masculine.  My only advice is relax a little and enjoy yourself.  You'll be surprised how much your overall feminine appearance will improve just by relaxing and 'flowing' more.  Overall you look great :)  Have fun!

Katie Steph,

Can I just agree that the pics look good, you have a really nice face, and the wig suits you and looks natural despite its length.

Just that your legs DON'T work with such a short dress ... way too muscular / masculine ...

Otherwise no reason you shouldn't pass.

But passing is all about confidence and attitude.  It takes time, guts, practice to get out there and "live" ... give it a go - take baby steps first !

I'm no beauty and feel there's so much to give me away, but passing anything other than absolutely has not been an issue with me for over three years (even had boyfriends who never knew, and I seem to pick up at least one new guy a week ...  ::) ... ), it really is all about being extrovert and believing in yourself.

Honestly ...

And yes, figure and "deportment" are as important as facial looks ... getting rid of muscle and excess body weight goes without saying.

OK who let the GG in here.

Katie,  You are very pretty, but why is it so hard for new girls to smile.  And uncross those hands.

And like the others have said and I always say it is all about "Attitude".
I like the dress, but the shoes don't work with your muscular legs.

And if you had run into anyone, they would only see a young lady.  ;D

Dammit Jim...We can't all be Twiggy! We play the hand we're delt.
As do GG's. Some of us will NEVER be small, without doing harm to ourselves.
ALL of us, GG or not, use clothes to hide what we feel are our phyical faults and
accentuate what we consider our assets. Wide shoulders and thick DANCER'S legs?
Snug bodice (not tight), loose in the shoulders or a drape of some sort and a flared skirt.
It gives the appearance of an narrower waist. If you like, the skirt could be longish worn with boots.

Wah-laa! Faults hidden, Assets accentuated.

I think you look very pretty, and I agree with Heather about the legs.  They're fabulous!  I've known bio girls who are dancers or sprinters who have legs like that, I don't think they're necessarily a "tell".

You definitely look feminine but more so in some of these pictures than others.  I would probably suspect you were a CD or Trans, but then I live in the Bay Area, in areas of the country where trans-folk aren't as common I bet you would pass just fine.  The broader shoulders could be explained by water polo, but your arm muscles read distinctly masculine for me.  If you're worried about passing I would say a long sleeved black shirt (or dress) might help that alot.

Hi
I think you look great, but agree with the other comments. Like a lot of TGs we want to look like supermodels. DUHH. Look like a women of your age. Look at the fashions GGs are wearing and why. I went to the mall today wearing a T-shirt, 3/4 pants, flat, but in style shoes, no one made a comment. Felt great being normal.

I could not have done this a few weeks ago
Susan's people you ROCK
