My mom ran in to my Brest friend from Highschool yesterday. I lost touch with her. Well my mom told her that she thinks I want to be a guy and my friend's reply according to my mom was "oh, really" with a smile.  ;D

Doesn't it just make you wonder how well our friends know us sometimes? The number of friends I have who weren't in the least surprised when I told them I was a bisexual crossdressing androgyne and just reacted like it was normal surprised me. It's like they new it was coming and were just waiting for me to realize it, too.

tekla

I've known several people who when they came out every said "About time you figured it out, we've all known for years."

Sometimes the things we think we are hiding are very obvious to everyone else.

Most of my friends had absolutely no idea when I came out to them .. and for some reason expected that being a transsexual would suddenly make me start hitting on them constantly  :D

Most of my friends who know me well knew and they said it wasn't a suprise. Just like my
mother!

When I came out my sister in law said, known it for years. Whole family just took it. No problems.
Somltimes I think the fear we have is the the major problem

Mister

it sounds like your mother needs to learn to STFU.

Actually I don't mind because to me it shows acceptance, full acceptance, not just "dealing with it". And she knows better than to tell random class mates or family with out my permission.
  •

Mister

just a random person you haven't spoken to in...  how many years?

tekla

I would not read too much into two vague words and a smile.

3 years and in the statement above I was talking about my mother not my friend. My mom does know that I had a suspicion that Jenny, my friend, already knew and I just didn't have any contact info for her which is the only reason I lost touch with Jenny. Now I know she is in the area and a place to find her. To me, Jenny isn't some random person and never will be even if it has been 20 years since the last time I talked to her.

tekla:
I know not to read too much into it as I wasn't there to see nor feel it (empathy is sometimes very useful).

I spent the last 2 days hanging out with her. She doesn't care in the least in fact she has had a girlfriend.

And the girlfriend matters...  how, exactly?

come on guys, you have to at least know what he meant... yes i know, dating a girl doesnt mean BAM you know and accept EVERYTHING queer.  but exposure is different than a random mountain man whos been raised to believe that homosexuals, trans-people, and vegetarians are sick in the head.

The girlfriend doesn't really matter, it was just a statement. Wow, you people read into some things way too much.

Just as a side note: having to shovel your way to your door after a 9 hour drive, sucks! especially when you still have to finish shoveling the next day.

Look, I just don't want anyone running around with a false sense of assurance just to get blindsided with a 2*4.

And i do know that feeling--I used to live in Minnesota  :police:

Friends re-found are really good friends, or, so is my experience.
