What is life? Why do I exist? Who are we exactly, and why were we put here?

So many views, so many theories, so many what ifs and arguments. Can never pick a side on who or what to take part in. My mind: a nonstop whirlwind of questions, arguments, what ifs and whys.

Do I really exist, or am I fragment of imagination?

Courage, something I've had for the past year, but am nearly depleted of. Not happy, not sure where many paths will lead me. I watch others working towards successful lives, while I am struggling and flapping helplessly in the water, desperately trying not to drown.

Strength, something I've also had for the past year, but am depleted of. How can I work towards tomorrow if I cannot find the strength to get to tomorrow? Nothing is ever enough in the view of other people of the world, and the limitations and restrictions are to many.

My mind is becoming numb, and I do not see how I will ever amount to anything. I cannot pay for therapy, no job, and no place is willing to help. If I can't find the strength to pull myself forward to get it, than how do I get help?

To much anymore, testosterone tortures me, and I don't know if transition will help anything. The worst hand of cards dealt to me: no comfort in anything I do. Faithless, hurt, and out of energy, I don't think I can go much further.

Is there any hope?

Your life is of your making. I would start with a way to survive and support your self. Looking for income is a 24 a hour job. You are wasting time just talking about it. Life is about questions, some avoid the questions with beliefs. Put your emotions in your tool box it is time to use other tools.

QuoteWhat is life?

Love

QuoteWhy do I exist?

To be happy

QuoteWho are we exactly,

We are a member of a species of bipedal primates from the family Hominidae called humans

Quotewhy were we put here?

To love and feel the love of others
[We weren't "put" here. We were just kind born]

Confusion comes from thinking too hard about it. The meaning of life is open to interpretation from the individual. To me personally, these are the easiest questions in the world.

As for your life situation, it's a process. the best thing to do is find something - anything that can be done consistently and build upon that. I remember being in a similar situation not long ago. The first thing I did was get a job at my local church. I made about 100 a month from that working 4 hours a week - but it was a start. I went to community college during this period and lived off savings I had accumulated years ago. I made small steps because I had few options but even though every step I made was tiny they all add up.

Keep focused, remain patient, and stay consistent.

Good advice from Robin, FR. See about taking it slow and easy and always try to make long-term goals to focus on. That way you get a chance to show yourself some success.

You're getting lost and bumping into trees because you're thinking about getting through the forest rather than getting past the indivdual trees.

Much as you, or any of us, might wanna look at "The Big Questions" and the long-term, the Big Questions and the long-term are never answered or made all at once. It takes time for those things.

Stop worrying about end-results and how people are gonna view you. Instead take a step, then another, etc. That way you'll actually get somewhere. And try to recall that as early as you are in transition any step you take can be rather easily doubled-back on and you can change directions pretty easily.

But to do anything at all right now, you're gonna have to focus on the end of your foot and where that step is going to land. Forget the "Big Picture!!" :) :icon_hug:

Unhappiness is never caused by the situation, only your thoughts about it.    Eckhart Tolle

He talks a lot in his books about overthinking and how the thinking mind prevents you from living in the present.  We can get ourselves so wrapped up in the what ifs it paralyzes us and prevents us from living life.  It's better to just accept what is and enjoy the moment.

The more you ask a question like that, the more you will continually get questions as answers.

Just guzzle and suck whatever you can from life. Dionysis may have been onto something there....

And make sure you create something.

Hm, well I'd say the one thing in life you really can be sure of is you do exist in some form or another.  Since you have awareness of your own consciousness it must exist, right?  Otherwise how would you be aware of it =)?  Everything else in life is pretty much a leap of faith, though some leaps are more reasonable to make than others =P.

Anyway, you really shouldn't sweat all those views and theories which seem to be overwhelming you.  Nothing (beyond ones own confidence they themselves exist) can ever be proven beyond doubt anyway, and the "right" or "wrongness" of any subject gray enough for people to endlessly argue about is simply colored by the biases those people carry from their own set of experiences.

I believe courage and strength are fueled by hope, and as long as you are living there always is hope-- even if you are in such a dark place you can't see it.  When I find myself lost like that, I just try to follow the path that gives me the most peace.  Just do what feels right for you.  Know that you are not alone, and take hope from the fact others have gone through the same thing you are going through now and emerged safely on the other side of their journey.  Try to use that hope to renew your strength and courage to take this challenge on.  What was said about keeping focused, patient and consistent was very good advice.  Good luck! :)
