Melissa

Someone at work moved to our office from down in California about a month ago.  I hadn't formally met him yet until today.  I actually had spoken to him on the phone as my old self.  Well, I don't think he got the memo about my transition.  We were in the break room and he introduced himself and I introduced myself and said he had seen me around the past few days and introduced himself.  I guess he figured I was a new employee (technically, I guess I am :))  because we have been hiring a lot lately.  He asked if I worked in the Account Managers department (90% women) and I said that I didn't and just explained that I was a Business Analyst and what I did.  I guess I'm passing even to people working here.  I also think people will be respectful and not introduce me as the TS employee, which is nice.

the bat was a bit much, but a nice touch to the progression of anger  ;)

congrats melissa, that must have made the whole day pretty close to perfect for you! everyone deserves for that to happen occasionally (if i had it my way we'd all have that quite frequently) for them, it keeps us going, it's encouraging and definately makes one feels fairly confident.

again, right on melissa, passing in the work place is huge!

That's exactly right.  The little things like this are the things that stick out in my day.

Reminds me of a T-shirt I saw once, Chynna:

"Watch out, I have a gun and I'm low on estrogen!"

Congrats again Melissa. I'm so glad it's going so smoothly for you.

Melissa;

Is the above edit of your quote a little closer to what you meant?

BTW;  Keep the anecdotes comin'!  ;D

The same thing just happened again. :)  It was a woman this time and she was hired about a month ago, but she had been on vacation for the first 2 weeks and only started coming to work when I went fulltime, so she never saw the old me. :)  I just introduced myself as Melissa as I did before and didn't act like there was anything unusual.
