A week and a half ago, I dropped in here.  I was bored, feeling just a bit down facing some work that has become a tad boring.  I still like what I do.  I just needed a break.

I have been locked in stealth mode for 18 years and have been hesitant to go back to the old haunts.  It seems as though the old haunts no longer exist.

I found Susans and found you, men and women, who warmed up to me very quickly. That is not always the case. I sometimes come on to strong and it can scare someone or make them shy away.

I made a few posts.  I soon realized that I could round out a few ideas and write an essay or two about my own life.  I figured that it may be helpful for someone here. I had some interesting experiences in my life after all.

The essays prompted me to write more.  I could put a collection together that would help my family.  The project became one of those things that squirrel, my muse and constant inner companion, would push me to devote every waking moment to complete.

It wasn't long that I decided that it wouldn't take much to complete the essay collection to produce a book.

Today I put the collection together, looked it over, trimmed about a third of it out that didn't work towards a complete story, and I realized that I had a book.

I did some cover art, and here I was, an author.

I figure that I need to walk away from it for a few weeks and come back to it so I could do another round of editing.  But there it is. The writing is finished.  I have a book.

Thank you so much everyone for your encouragement and kind comments regarding my Chronicles of Cindi.  I couldn't post many essays.  I became totally engrossed in the project.  Reformatting them to post became a detour from my creative senses.

I just wanted to let you, my new friends know, that you have inspired me.  You are wonderful people, a rarity in our world.  I want to truly thank you for your help. Honestly, I shall be eternally grateful to you.

Cindia,

Where can we get a copy of the book.

You write some many stories that we can all relate to. It has been a pleasure to read about your life.

Alice,

Thank you for your kind words.  It is not my intent to shamelessly plug my efforts here in the forums.  I truly wanted to convey my sincere thanks to everyone for their help, support, and endless encouragement.

But, if anyone is interested, just contact me by private message. I'll give you the details.

Cindi

I don't think that it's a question of shamelessly plugging your efforts at all.  Your words are so wonderful and so relevant to those here at Susan's.  You were obviously encouraged by us so what the heck plug away, it's nice to be able to support members of our own community for a change.  Yes as Alice said let us know where/when the book will be available as I'm sure that there are many here who would buy it.  You never know it may become "Required reading" :)

I love it, just bored hey!  Aahhh  you make me laugh often. I love your sense of humor and I hope that you choose to include it in your book.
You are right you have some experiences that the world at large will be surprised to know (they shouldn't) I hope that the LDS does not sew you for defamation I would not trust the publisher since they are hard to be liable (James Frey's best-selling memoir, ''A Million Little Pieces.'' . I saw the Oprah interview and all the experts and publishers present  agreed that the best way to avoid  legal recriminations is to publish as Fiction)
I admire your courage and lightness ... come to think of it you're like titanium, very light and cool and stronger than steel ...yeah baby Titanium ->-bleeped-<- ...mmm that is an idea.
Anyway, Godspeed in your literary venture we are here rooting for you.
Love, no matter what, Sheila

I wish you success in the sales of your book.  I love the title.  Is it already in print?  That was quick.

Cindi,

I'm really glad that you have joined us.  I haven't had much of a chance to read everything since I am using someone else's computer.  (and house and bed and kitchen...!)  You have a lot of good thoughts to share.  And I love the title and cover of your book!  Get that global ISBN number and get it out on the open market!

And for what it is worth, I will never appear on TV to push the book.  ;)

Wow, letting it go to your head already?  :)

Melissa,

I'll never make much on the book.  I value my life as it exists more than to make money from my experiences.  The book is out there for those who may need help as they transition. I'm not willing to expose my family to any more pain and suffering by going public.  The income it may gain is not worth the potential loss. As a result, it has no chance of becoming a prominent volume in any book store. That is fine with me. If it can help someone else face the battle of transition, then I will be very happy indeed.

But.... It has sparked a yearning to write a work of fiction that I have been dreaming up my whole life.  Cindi Anna Jones will be the heroine after all. The book will be penned with my legal name. Doing "Squirrel Cage" has my squirrel running and prodding me on in yet another new venture.  Focusing on my current business will suffer I'm sure.  I have 4 orders to fulfill (2 months each) and then I'm going to space future orders out further so that I can spend more time with squirrel.

I was just kidding with that last comment.  I know you wrote it for writing's sake.
