I didn't know Terri, but I'm still saddened that she has passed.  My condolences to her family.

I came here yrs ago under a different name. Her name sounds very familar but does anyone have a picture of here that she used when she was here?

Unfortunately her profile picture is no longer there. Maybe Susan or other here may have one.  I checked through all my pictures and i don't seem to have one either.

Here is the topic where Leigh announced that Terri was promoted to a Mod on the forums:

Its so sad that both are no longer with us. :(

OH MY  Are you telling me Leigh from Idaho who was living in Portland is gone? I knew her personally when i lived there in 2000.  She put tires on trucks etc .. Damn i kinda wondered where she was because she was strong around here. I just thought she went offline.. Oh my i cooked her dinner once at my home in hillsboro Oregon

Read this in our Wiki:

I put this up shortly after she passed away.  I'm so sorry you had to find out this way.

Thank you Steph. I helped her to start transitioning around september 2000. She did get pretty wild after she started. I remember traveling through portland in 2003 for a pride event and she was tied up and being whipped by a few GG's as they traveled on a flatbed truck .. I was shocked but i shouldn't have been. She was someone i could trust too. I had a rather large garden of medical herbs i was growing for patients in need and she respected me and it. We did meet at the egyptian club quite a few times and at embers. She was though very sexual and i wasn't and we soon parted by december 2000 and well at the time i had been falsely diagnosed with HEP-C . They had only done the simple antibodies test and so i thought i had it or so the VA told me. Finally i was given the more expensive RNA viral load test.  In octoberber / novenber after taking a load of herb to San Fran for patients (given for free) i returned home to find out that i was actually immune to it and was one of the lucky 15%. That was in 2000 and i had just met Leigh. However, i was still learning about it and i then left PDX in december 2000 to travel the USA in a RV to try to educate others at VA's about the RNA viral load test. The VA finally changed their policy due to my being falsly diagnosed.

Yes leigh was a sweet person and a hard worker and also a wild woman. I see now why she was living so wild as she was living her last yrs God bless her.

It is sad that both women have passed leaving behind, essentially an unwritten legacy (If that's right word.)  Their stories would have been critical reading for our community, now all we have is their memories and their posts within the forums of Susan's.

They are now the voices in our heads trying to guide us to have fun and enjoy life while we can.. well i am sure thats what Leigh is telling me.. OMG, I'm so sorry. Terri-Gene was really a down to earth person. I wondered what had happened to her. She will be missed by all. I knew she was sick but I didn't think that bad. I'm so sad.

Terri Gene was a very special woman. She was as tough as a person could be yet she had the biggest heart you will ever see. She loved her family so very much. Her love was obvious in her words whenever she spoke of them.

I probably knew Leigh, I was here On Susan's original Chat Room a couple of years before the forums, that is about nine years ago and I left 7 years ago. I was a bit of a cut up then too. ;D May God Bless her soul.

I wanted to thank you all for your well wishes and kind words.. To tell the truth I miss both Terri and Andrea very much.  If you want to know anything or just want to chat or need some insite you can reach me on here I now have an account. I can't answer things the same way Terri did but she informed me about alot of what she went thru and informed me alot about what she thought. I just appreciate everyones kind thoughts. I apologize for everyone having to find out thru here. And yes Tink you have my permission to inform the Dr. that you and my dad shared. Im sure they would like to know.

Take care-

I came across this post just now while doing a search to see if Terri-Gene has come back since I've been away.   :icon_sniff: :icon_sadblinky: :'(

Back in 2004-2006-ish, (estimated time frame), Terri & I grew to be friends online.  We talked well into the night on IM, exchanged long, deep messages via e-mail & PM, and talked by phone a couple times (we lived on opposite coasts).  After Leigh passed away, it was hardest to catch her...it seemed like she just faded...and every now & then I'd try to reach out & find her, and never got a reply...I just figured she had her reasons for keeping her distance.

I'm so shocked & sad....and my sympathy goes out to her family & her other friends.....

I've missed ya' Terri-Gene.....may your soul journey well until we meet again....

Odd this thread should come up today. I was thinking about Terri-Gene this morning. It is a shame if we've lost her posts, they were long and thoughtful.

Synchronicity. I shall treasure my memories of her.

The posts can be recovered but the account would eventually drop off again after a few months. Do a search they are all still there.

I miss Terri-Gene too.   I first came on about 9 years ago.   I remember joking with CindyBC  on chat and many exchanges in the forums with Terri-Gene.  I was Michelle then as I am now.  I am the Michelle that used to be a teacher.

Hi Michelle, I'm still around but don't come on much anymore, just check in now and again to see what's happening. How have you been keeping? I am retired now and married and have taken the opportunity of the free time to follow other interests.
