Mari

thank you all and especially soldierjane for in-depth explanation... ;)
It gives me hope...
But i also have to agree with (some of) you that beeing tall can be cool too. And i don't mind beeing tall, just that i wouldn't like to be super tall, cuz i would love to wear heels and still be able to pass "smoothly" through average door farme.
Yes, models are tall but very few are over 6''. So if i from around 6'1'' end up at 6' or even maybe 5'11'' that would really be WOW. And sure if my 44EU/12US womans size feet get any smaller i wouldn't complain either  ;D

They also get used as arm rests, and shoved into places larger people cannot fit. Trunk, back seats, aircraft fuel tanks, etc...

Tall has it's disadvantages too.

They also break down more often.

I know i am bringing this topic from death, but basicly i wanted to open one with similar topic.
Anyway... i am 20, i have stated HRT some 2 months ago. The thing thats recently been in my mind is definetly my height. During my entire late teens i was, (and still am, i believe) 185 (+/- 1cm) which is 6'1.
Recently someone (not very good minded) told me that it is very likely to keep growing till age of 25, which was enough for me to satrt obsessing about my height once more. So my questions are:

  • would it be possible for someone like me, who is on hrt, and haven't had any major height increase in years, to gain height?
  • when i measure myself in the eryly morning when i have just gotten out of bed i was like 187cm (almoust 6'2) and during the day, in the afternoon i am like 184-5 which is an inch of variation, so what is my real height? morning or evening? or does 187 means i have actually grown?
  • I'd love to be a bit shorter... and i was in fact hoping for height DECREASE. as i've read on this topic that even younger girls have lost anywhere from 1-3 inch so it can't be attributed to osteoporosis. So, how long before you noticed height decrease if it happened at all?
Thanx in advance, i hope to hear your experiences

This sounds exactly like me, I'm 20, 6'1'' and and an 11-12 womens shoe US....I would assume that because we are so young we would have a pretty good chance of shrinking our features if we start transition early enough!!

Well i am slightly over 3 months into HRT now, and haven't noticed anything
height-wise... Maybe its too early, but i am also afreid of still growing a bit taller, so i don't know what to expect. We just have to accept it may never happen, and if it does, well good for us.  :)

Before HRT, I had just made; five foot seven inches and a few 16th's. With help! I weighed approx, 118 lbs.

After I started HRT, and was on it awhile, very noticeable things began to happen. What little upper male muscle mass I had, diminished along with strength. My shoulders fell slightly. My neck thinned. My legs lost muscle. I felt different in my hips, as I walked.

After about 2 years of full blown HRT, I had l lost more than a foot in height. Currently today, I am just under 5' 6"... 134-140 lbs.
Depends on seasonal time of year, and water retention. I watch my weight seriously. My husband loves it that I am smaller, and easy to lift...

My physician told me, that it was common for transitioning MtF TS's to lose height.  It has to do with muscle mass density loss, and the different fats and water that we then acquire...

Personally, I am glad it happened.

I lost about 1/2" in the first year of HRT. Nothing in the year+ since then.

I've gained about 1cm in height (just under half an inch), rather than shrinking; and I've put on 13kg (About 28 pounds).
No change in shoe size.

I gained some height.  It's official, I am now 5'3".

Ive been on Hrt for 5 months and my height of 5.9 3/4 hasn't changed at all. Im 25 btw. honestly I don;t think my height or shoe size will change because I have so little muscle mass to lose. I would love to go down a shoe size though from 11 mens. As for weight Ive gone from 125 to 133. Since ive been trying to straighten my posture also if anything I feel a lot taller because im standing up straight without slouching now.

I started out at 6ft. 1in. and now after two years I am at 5ft. 9in. my feet were size 11 1\2 mens us. they are now 8 1/2 mens us. about a 10 womens depending on style.

Around 2inchs lost seems to be a common theme  :)

I'm 5' 7" and wish I could shrink down to 5' 5", that would be ideal.

I've found since i've been on HRT I've put on weight and not in the right places either, mostly on my belly which is worse than before HRT. I Have however lost shoulder mass but haven't put weight on on my lower body as I would have predicted. But I'm not about to give up yet!

Yea thats the spirit! Dont give up hope! A quick question naturally blonde, is your lower body well defined in terms of like muscle and stuff? Cause I have been told that have a good athletic build is good for fat redistribution.

I don't have any muscle and my legs are skinny.
