After eight years of right conservative goverment Obama promized change. But his cabinet and program are centrist not left-liberal. It seems that many liberal voters have been betroyd.

And Obama's centrist policy is not going to get him re-elected. In 2012 the conservative media secures that Sarah Palin will become the first female president of the United States. Obama will loose re-election because fixing economy takes more than just four years.   

I'm a little confused. How have they been betrayed?

Are nominations like Napolitano to Homeland security and Gates to defence real change in those areas.

Well, Napolitano is viewed by both Dems and Reps as a good choice. Obama has said that Gates would remain for a year at this point and then be re-evaluated. Obama has one thing definitely going for him: he listens and he wants people in positions from all sides. He's not exclusive in his choices and that makes him unusual since he's fair. Certainly he's not "left-wing". I don't think he ever said he was or that anyone has ever said he was.

He did promise change: that you'd have a president that would listen and make a difference towards the positive, not the negative. So far, he's been pretty much on course.

Well the liberal wing of the party does not see Napolitano as good choice.

That may be the case. But they don't make up the whole party last I looked and running the country shouldn't be about the party but about the citizens of that nation, shouldn't it?

We might see couple off democrat senators voting no for Napolitano nomination.

He is just playing smart politics.  A President is only as powerful as his congress allows him to be.  He will need to have Congress united behind his cause if he is to have any hope of turning this country around in 4 years, which will not happen unless he reaches out to those with disparate views from his own.

Additionally, from what I have read, he is a big fan of Lincoln, who also filled his cabinet with his political rivals.

Not a chance in hell.

If people vote against her, which of course can always happen, is going to be determined by their next election, how close it is, and how much of a problem immigration is where they are elected.

I oppose that nomination too, but only becuase I think DHS should be disbanded.

Only on those that take TARP or bailout money, and only so long as the loan is outstanding, though I'm thinking this is why Ford and others have so far refused.

One thing of note is that he's has to deal with people of all political persuasions. It isn't THAT cut and dry. Obama did say that he's open to hearing other viewpoints. TO me that's a refreshing change. SOme people people (liberals and conservatives) are so locked into their own way of thinking that they never consider the merits of some thing different. Personally, I'd rather have differing views than a bunch of yes people.

Obama has been in office just two weeks so people need to be patient.

Even though I'm from one of the more conservvative (Economically;yes, socially;maybe) countries in Western Europe I have to say politicians in the the US seem to all be on the right. Obama may be more centrist than most but still a little to the right.
