there's a line between egocentricity and exhibitionism

Pica, you are an oddball. "And," quoting Dogberry from Much Ado About Nothing, "I praise God for you."

I'd love to meet you, too. But again, some place "safe."  :D

I think of myself as selfish, and I'm not entirely sure if or how this differs from being egocentric.

Nero

well, I think the whole egocentric ties into the childlike thing. children are said to be very egocentric and think they're superheroes and the world revolves around them until they grow up and see other people.

I certainly feel like my wife and my son are both more mature than I am. I've still got my daughter beat, but she's only 17.

Pica Pica

egocentric is not quite the same as selfish though

I don't think I'd call myself egocentric, but I do feel that I have to take care of myself, so I do put myself before others in that sense.  But I also think about other people, so ???.  Then again, I know a LOT of truly egocentric and/or selfish people and I strive to not be perceived that way.
If curiosity really killed the cat, I'd already be dead.

disclaimer: Huge generalizations.

So, the majority of this forum is INFP, in the myers-briggs testy thing.

The INFP type is described as "being very aware of their feelings", apparently, more so than other kind of type.

I *always* know what I am feeling.Other people seem to "believe" rather than "know" what they're feeling.

We as androgynes are more aware of our oddness, and how we feel about it.
I've met excentrics who are painfully *unaware* of their oddness and they feel they're just doing a-ok while everybody is like "omg this guy's freaking mad as a tuna".

Some of us, I personally don't, try to appear as normal and to be "within the boundaries" of society etc. This have to be because these a.g.s are "ego-centric", as it has been described earlier in this thread, no ?

That's what I think.
I might be wrong.
I do know everybody likes fishes.

P.S: OMG Pica! you cut your hair ??? why D: ?

My skirt flew up and some neighbors were staring in my window. So I gave them a lil' tail shake and smiled

That's my thinking, too. But, I can't quite say why.
