Children aren't guinea pigs

Being confused about one's identity and sexuality is hardly an unusual state of being for a teenager. Their sense of self is constantly evolving. Feelings are not necessarily reliable. Teens get depressed and hopeless, but it doesn't mean they're intrinsically depressed and hopeless, that's just where they're at in a snapshot of time. It's no more reliable a guide to where they'll be in 10 or 20 years' time than their adolescent feelings of being a misunderstood genius whose poetry will shake bourgeois society to its core.

The response to, "I want to be a girl, it's so unfair", should be, "Let's leave it a few years and see how you feel then," not, "You're dead right, wait here while I get my scalpel."

Teenagers invariably think they have all the answers. The last thing they need is surgeons and psychologists telling them they really are infallible. Even the Gender Identity Development Unit in London, which treats youngsters with severe gender identity disorder, says that 80 per cent of them do not go on to become transsexuals. That is the natural process which is being interrupted by doctors playing God purely because the science lets them do so.

Also Dr. Zucker like repatative therapy makes children as guinea pigs. Transcommunity should be against the cruel treatments for transkids.

This is coming from the same kinds ->-bleeped-<-s who (and go ahead and censor me but they totally deserve the title) agree with the OTHER shrinks they bring their kids to to "Cure" them. They throw antidepressants and stimulants at any kids who are acting, "Out of line," Or, "Not concentrating well enough." If there were a pill for gender problems, and the pharmaceutical company knew dumb parents would shove it down their kids throats, hell maybe even a suppository, the wheels would start turning.

You know. When you go to see the shrink Mr. Know it All who shoves horrible chemicals down your throat and causes your problems with concentration in the first place because you were essentially on speed for 3 years.


People who TEST these drugs on kids. A few years is NOTHING to get all of the known side effects of psychiatric medication, and telling a parent that, "Wellbutrin is a GOOD MEDICINE," etc etc is HORRIBLE. Its like an endorsement instead of a medical helping hand. If the gender problem killer pill were existent, I'm sure they'd say it was a good hearty medication too (they suggest it to you like its a whole wheat heart-healthy box of effing Cheerios)


So basically. I would say that its irrelevant. They're guinea pigs anyway, so who cares?! Kids ARE Guinea Pigs. Least you could do is at least allow the guinea pig to be what it wants to be as you make money off of it and poison it.
