LOL. Considering all the *^^%$##$%# they've been perpetrating on my favourite comics universe since Dan Didio took over as Ed in chief, this is a fairly welcome change ... though knowing him it'll turn out she was brainwashed by the Scarecrow or somebody and isn't really an icky "ghey". Hell, If thy could turn Cassie Cain, the most awesome Batgirl EVER into a murderous assassin, they can do anything. Even kill Batman. Oh yeah, they just recently did. Bastards.  >:( (And it was Darkseid that did him in. The article is wrong ... or rather, it was another "editorial oversight" - Batman died twice in a month. Sigh)

That's old news.

I wish I were Batwoman.   That's old news too.

The Batwoman is a character who has come and gone since the 50's.   Someone made a conscious decision that DC needed a member of the LGBT community.

Why would she wear such high heels, though?  How is that going to help?  Are they saying it's okay to be gay, but if you are, you're stupid too?

It's hard to stay invested in comics when every year there's some new and zanier stunt to get better ratings than the previous year.

That said, the impracticality of female superhero costumes (and let's be fair, many male ones too, especially movie versions of the actual Batman), is well documented with few dissenters.

Lipstick Lez I guess.

And lipstick lez is somehow less lez than others?

Personally a ruff tuff femme lez seems a pretty good move. Of course I could care less about comics, but I understand that prolly a majority of the GP uses comics as their outlet for the "real world."

Its a very bad habit I've gotten into, that whole 'saving yourself deal' - I can't help it if I'm lucky.

when I read the first releases, they specifically said 'lipstick lesbian'.    It's probably more for the boys.  Because males like to fantasize about beautiful women doing stuff.  Or maybe it's for the gay males because some of them like to see girly girls.

They should have her similar to the character Gina Gershin played in 'Bound'.  My heart vibrated when I saw that movie.

I just wish they'd lose the heals. Batgirl, Huntress, Spoiler, Catwoman - they all have the good sense to wear flat shoes for going leaping off-of tall buildings, but this one wears heels. First time she tries to do a reverse roundhouse kick, the Joker will be laughing his a*se off. Sigh.

This is a dumb article.  Lesbian Batwoman first appeared like 3 years ago, and has been maintaining a relationship with The Question, who is awesome, across several books.

She also doesn't wear heals anymore either.

And the new book is going to be in detective comics, which is a huge deal.  And it's being done by one of the top writers at DC, and one of the best artists in all of comics JH Williams III.

Seriously people.  Be up on your LGBT comic book characters.  Jeez.  This is embarrasing.

I can't wait for the updated version of Archie myself.

In the 70's they started ruining Archie by having 'very special' editions.  Like one time Archie saw some kid throw something in the trash.  He pulled it out and a cop grabbed him because they were staking out a heroin drop.

"Don't pull heroin out of the trash, kids, or you too may end up being brow beaten by Riverdale's Finest"

It was stupid stupid stupid
