Very interesting program and I would recommend it to anyone. Made me think about my own situation and needs, I just hope my life gets better.

Alice, don't forget, YOU are the master/mistress of your own destiny. Your life won't get "better" unless you are the one to make it better. It's a journey so don't give up searching and don't depend on anyone else to find your answers. They are there somewhere, just keep looking :) Meghan

Meghan,

I am sick of looking - I think you know I just want all of this to go away.

I know you do Alice, I know you do. I think you know by now it takes work to deal with it. It's the same kind of challenge you face when your body tells you "no more" when you are going uphill on a long bike ride...you just push through it. This is the same thing. Attack it with the same tenacity you do biking and you'll get through it :)

I like that analgy Meghan. I can see the next few months I will be deap into DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Thearapy) in the hope that it helps me. It seams to me at the moment to be a bandaid trying to control the behavour without looking at the cause of the behaviour. I think this is best summed up by the following quote (taken from https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,55770.msg349348/topicseen.html#msg349348).

Quote
Therapists can help, but many of them are trained in cognitive-behavioral methods that are designed to solve depression.  They have no idea how to guide people toward HAPPINESS.  Finding HAPPINESS is the point of transitioning.  If your therapist doesn't have a decent idea of what will and will not make a transgender person happy in the long run, then they are just helping put a bandaid on your depression.

I ask the theripst about this and she said if you can control your behaviour you will more likly be able to keep calm and think about the issues.
