I am on Spiro and have been on it for 4-5 months, nice changes indeed even beyond what it says they will do.

I need to thank one person on here and she knows who she is for listening to me babble about some of  the issues ive had..thanks.

cheers and be happy

Hi Caylea and welcome to Susan's Place, congrats on the TG friendly GP and therapist. I hope your GP will get you on some kind of estrogen soon even if it's a low dose, being on just an anti-androgen can lead to bone loss over time. I'm 56 and everyone thinks I'm in my 40's, I'm m2f also, never too late to transition.

Paula.

Hi Caylea,   :icon_wave:

Welcome to our little family. Over 1900 strong. That would be one heck of a family reunion. Feel free to post your successes/failures, Hopes/dreams.  Ask questions and seek answers.  Give and receive advice.

But remember we are family here, your family now.  And it is always nice to have another sister.   :icon_hug:

What is to long? I really can't answer that, everyone is different but what i have read is after about a year there can be, not that there will be, the start of bone loss, however your DR. should know this. The reduction in testosterone is responsible for causing the bone loss. our bodies need either testosterone or estrogen to keep from getting bone loss. At 4 - 5 months on Spiro i wouldn't worry too much about it especially if you will be starting Estrogen in the near future.
