Hello, My name is Luna.
I have always known there was something different about me from other boys. I just never knew what it was. A month ago I was hanging out with a few of my girl friends and one of them said I was lesbian in a guys body. They said it as a joke but it got me thinking. After that I spent a lot of time thinking and I've had a few really long talks with them. I am a girl on the inside I'm just not sure what to do. I'm alone and kinda scared. Only 4 of my closest friends know. My parents probably wont be accepting when I tell them my dad might even kick me out. I really need advice and support.

when i was in high school i had the same thing told to me by one of my friends!

don't be scared.
i've been waking up now just in the mindset that i'm a girl, doing girl things, and it's been wonderful.
i've only told one person.
at the moment i don't care if anyone else knows because i've never been happier.

i still dress like a boy and people know me as one but i'm kinda girly cause, well, you know.

i laugh in my head when people think i'm gay.

Hi Luna, welcome to Susan's, I beleive you have found the right place to inquire about trans issues. Well I pretty well followed the same pattern as you, I always gravitated around girls during the time I was a kid growing up and the trend didn't change much after I grew up either, even to today. I do pray you find what you need to know here.

Part of the reason I'm scared is how my best friend at the time reacted. Shes not the supportive type. Infact shes stoped talking to me altogether. It all started awhile back before my other friends told me i was a lesbian in a guys body. I made the mistake of telling her I liked her. She very meanly said that she had no feelings for me that way becasue I was a guy. our realtionship had ben rocky after that. Then came this and some how she thinks that the only reason I think this is becasue of her sexuality. I've tried to convince her this has nothing to do with her but she wont listen and no she wont talk to me any more.

The rest of why Im scared is that now i know I'm really a girl I really dont know where to go next. The fact I live at home with parents that probably wont accept me really limits what I can do at this point.

i still live at home so i understand being limited to what you can do.
i'm sure my parents would flip if i told them ::cough:: catholic! ::end cough::
i'm gonna go get me some cute socks. they're easy to hide!!!

Hi Luna and welcome to Susan's. Something you should seriously think about is finding a gender therapist that is supportive of transgendered folks. Yes you can read and get a lot of information here but they can help you walk through the issues and guide you. I value my Therapists information and guidance, she helps me to pace myself and keep my prioritys in line. I sincerely hope you find your way in this.

I had to giggle at the lesbian comment, I too had heard that on several occassions in my life. Anyway, hugs and welcome.

My dad is a very conservative christian almost as bad a catholic. I'm not really sure about my mom now that I think about it she mostly has the same views on things I do. If I knew how to tell her I would that is if I was alone with her. Little brothers and their friends make that almost imposible. 

Finding a therapist is going to be kinda hard. I've been trying to find one near me but so far the closest one is a 3 hour drive and that just doesn't work for me.

Fully understand what you said about about being a girl. Once when realises that it's final in my opinion, it's like all one's defences and illusions are stripped away and from then one can only pretend to be male.

This can happen at any age maybe, I've always known it but it took me a long time to give in as I don't like being forced into anything even by my own self!

Hi Luna, I dont know if this would help you at all, but I have heard others talk of Therapists that do phone consultation so that might be an option for you. One site I have heard mentioned and used was http://www.transgendercare.com  There are always lots of options and the wiki here is excellent. Hope that might have helped in a small way.
