ok, so i've been doing a lot of research about the top surgery and what not. and it all says i have to go to a gender therapist. well, i have been going to therapy for about a year now, and i was wondering if my therapist i'm using now would work or if i have to go to a "certified" gender therapist? I mean, is there a difference in the two? or is it just the wording that the websites use?

I would ask your surgeon and see what he says.

Here in the UK we require two letters from independent people I got a letter from my psychiatrist and my Dr who is a gender specialist.

Like I said contact the surgeon and see what he says.

I'm seeing a therapist that works with people on gender identity (in Missouri, USA), but isn't considered a gender specialist, just a regular therapist and she is able to write both T letters and surgery letters.

i am unsure of outside of the u.k but i do not think it needs to be a gender therapist as such to get a green light, the only thing in this country is the additional gender board to get your birth certificate changed is required off a board approved therapist but other than that no.

it would help to have a gender expert though for obviously a better understanding or proper diagnosis but i do not think is always essencial
