Alyx.

I just remembered that I used to have a bit of a forced feminization fetish, but... I totally idenify as a girl... So maybe that was just some wierd way my body reacted to the strong desire to be one? I dunno.

So... other fetishes, like furry ones and stuff. I don't imagine that people want to become an animal, so... maybe I was wrong? Does that mean I'm a guy? o-o

Why do people have feshishes and where do they come from?

There is a person in the U.S.A that has spent over 80 thousand dollars to try to look like a cat.

Huh.

That's interesting.

If there's a fetish, they have a word for it.

Wikipedia has a list of paraphilias.

And their article on paraphilias is a good start.

I couldn't find a word for forced feminization nor 'furry', though...

From where I sit.. I think it's a combination of things.
A person that lives a life that is very X will find the opposite of X to be enticing because it's exotic.
And human beings need to regress and loose control every once in a while and let out their baser sides.
and so.. we get fetishes to allow us these things.

But on this specific topic. I think it's a matter of personal excitement triggering sexual excitement and that doesn't mean you're a guy, but that the idea of being a girl really just... gets to you.

*blinks*
You don't?
You may not, but personally being human isn't exactly the best of times thank you VERY much.

But more to the topic of fetishes rather than wearing a body which doesn't "fit", I like to be tied up. I don't like it, but I like it. Perhaps it's because of unpleasant experiences in this life some how playing haywire with garbage or perhaps it was part of the initial definition and is simply "hardwired". *shrug* I personally think I favor the "hardwired" option. (meaning it's inborn, like gender)

Anyway, my two cents.

*raises paw* I'd like to be a wolf! Actually, I once bugged my mom about getting a tail implant *gigglesnorts* Though, now, I've settled with fake fur. In fact, theres a whole site for furries. www.furaffinity.net I'm on there twice. thats where I mostly get to be a guy. LOL

I guess people just pick up what they like? I dunno. I haven't really thought about it.

I don't know where fetishes come from. Probably a whole combination of things. The imagination being a key component.

Mrauw? But it's not a fetish if you don't get anything sexual out of it.

I had a bit of that also, and I've come to the same conclusion.  I think the feelings of freedom, release, and satisfaction from being yourself can get tangled up with sexuality.

Freud had the theory of imprinting. Basically when you are a child there a key moments of consciousness that arise out of all of the dross of infantile learning and suddenly your neurons connect to form this moment, and if you happen to be focused on something at that moment, you become fixated on it, and later on it develops into a fetish. He explained that because babies are often learning to crawl at this time this explains the high incidence of foot fetishes.

Another answer is that when you are sexually repressed or don't want to focus on sex you will find another object to project that energy onto when you are having a fantasy and after a while you develop a preference for one or the other. It stands to reason as well that there is likely a robustly researched Behaviorist theory on this. Short of that Behaviorist theories and Pavlovian Response certainly play an integral role in any of the theories of fetishes.

Mommy, where do fetishes come from?

Ask your father, he has more than anyone else, he'll know.

There's also an MMORPG for furries, http://www.furcadia.com while I have no desire to be furry, I like RPing furry chars on there, and it's actually how Landon and I met.

As far as where fetishes come from. Beats me, but I know I have a few *teehee*

They come in brown paper wrapped packages with French postmarks.
