Ok ladies I need your help ;D

I always wear trainers (UK speak) or Connverse etc. Have only ever worn formal shoes twice in my life and that was to my last wedding and to court!

Anyway I'm going out with friends next week and need a pair of women's shoes for what I will be wearing.

How do women's and men's sizes work? Is 42, 43, 44 the same for women and men? I'm a Euro men's size 44, what is the women's equivalent in Euro or UK sizes?

Stupid question I realise but help would be much appreciated :)

So European sizes are unisex?

The UK/US confusion does my head in and I stil haven't a clue what size I am in those measurements...

Thanks again :)

In the USA, womens sizes are generally two sizes up from mens.  I wore a size 10 in mens.  Depending on the cut of the shoes that is 11 or 12 in womens.  Thank the Goddess that I don't have a wide foot.

Blessed Be.

I have found the same thing. Two sizes larger is usually comfortable. Janet, I didn't know there was a foot Goddess. I tend to be a pagan and now I have an additional Goddess to worship.

In other news, they have shoes in Europe.  (just kidding)  We talk about sizes being messed up in other kinds of fashion, but nothing holds a candle to the international shoe industry, in men's I wear anywhere from a 9-10.5, or in womens, 11 or 12, extra wide or not.  You really have to try them on, which sucks, because shoe salesmen are in fact, a lot like Al Bundy in real life.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...
