Lawmaker says legislation supports 'those living among us'

http://www.seacoastonline.com/articles/20090322-NEWS-903220336A respected police officer, Anthony Barreto-Neto, was run off the police force in Hardwick, Vt., by constant harassment from fellow officers after they learned he had been born a woman.
Jamie Rondeai of Lowell, Mass., was repeatedly beaten and called a "->-bleeped-<-got" just because she identified more with being a woman than she did a man.
Stories like these occur in New Hampshire too, and that is why state Rep. Ed Butler has filed a bill to protect transsexuals from discrimination.
The bill adds to laws barring discrimination on the basis of sex, age, race, creed, color, sexual orientation or religion the words "gender identity" or "gender expression."
