Found an endo, I just got to wait for my therapist to mail my letter to me.
I'm really excited and scared. I've never gotten this close before. Thought it wouldn't happen.

I'm a little nervous about injections though. I can scarcely get my blood drawn without having flashbacks and cravings. I'm afraid of handling the needle. So, it's going to be a scary time for me not to fall back into addiction.
I'm going to need a lot of support at first. And it's doubtful I'll be able to ever regularly inject myself.
So yeah, Nero's being a wuss about this. But the needle is a very powerful and symbolic instrument to me. I can't see sticking myself regularly without falling prey again.

Thanks for listening.

Cool, congrats man. Looking forward to progress updates. Is there someone close to you that you can teach to inject, like your mother?

Hopefully, too, the difference between an IM injection and an IV one will be enough that it won't trigger you.

This is great news, Nero!

I hope everything goes well for you.

Nero do you have a friend/parent/ anyone who can do it for you? At least at the beginning? I know it's spendy but you can go to the office and have the nurse do it for you until you are comfortable yourself (my office charges $51 to do it). I can see what you are saying so maybe if you take the needle out of your hand literally  and put it in someone else's for your shots that would help.

Congrats man!  Shots aren't the only way... so if you find yourself getting close to falling back into addiction you do have other options.

Hopefully you have a good support system to help you along.

I use to be deathly afraid of shots.  But that changed when it had estrogen in it.  It's takes some getting use too and YES a hot shower before helps relax the muscles.  Hope you can visualize that the T will transform you and your life where the old stuff ruled it.  Be brave and let us know how it goes.  we're all in this together.

Alright, little brother.  You'll be fine, Hon.  Remember it is a drug that you have need for a long time, and unlike that other BS, this one will be the change from that old life.

You will be fine.  I have faith in you, Sweety.

Congrats man! Its been a long time coming but its worth it eh?

Instead of having shots can't you use the gel instead? So you aren't tempted! Or like others suggested get a friend/parent or ask the doctor if they could possibly do it for you?

Cheers

Jay

I am going in the other direction but I wish you all the very best Nero.  As for the needle thing, where is the injection given?  I had my T blocker in the backside thus could not see it unlike blood tests.   Whatever happens, take a deep breath and think of nice things and perhaps take a standard painkilling pill one hour before.

Good times are waiting for you and I wish you well.

Congratulations that's really awesome.

I  am sure all will  be well for you, starting  T is very different to taking a drug it's a hormone after all and one that your body obviously  needs  othherwise there would  not be  the want to  transition that thhere  obviously is.

I think having started very recently on T myself you will feel much more  in alignment  with yourself a very different experience altogether from being high although I do understand and empathise having struggled with addiction myself in  the form of anorexia and also alcoholism.

All the best man.
