What's a brain?

First she was going clockwise, then somehow she changed directions on me. 

Same as Nero. The dancer seemed to be going clockwise and then started going counter-clockwise. So I'm not so sure...

It might be said that your first impressions are made with one side of your brain, and then you swing across to the other side to analyse what you are seeing!

..at least you both got her to change directions...I'm just getting dizzy

all I can see is clockwise... stupy one-sided brain. 

She is definately moving clockwise. The arms, legs, and hair are all clearly spinning around in the direction of a clock. I was having a difficult time trying to figure out how it would even be possible to see her moving counter-clockwise.

However, after examining all of the details...she is clearly moving in both directions...at the same time. Her limbs are spinning in a clockwise direction but her body angle seems to be moving in a counter-clockwise direction. When I cover most of her up and only stare at a small portion of her legs she is spinning counter-clockwise.

In regards to brain fuctions...I feel like I use an equal amount of both sides of attributes at any given time.

This is going to make me sound like a total pig, but I originally saw her moving counter-clockwise and stared and stared to try and see it the other way with no success. Then I focussed on her boobs and suddenly she started spinning the other way. If I stare at her head, she turns counterclockwise. I can swap back and forth that way.

Dunno why that worked, but it did...

So I looked at it again and it was still clockwise. Then I was scrolling through the page and out of the blue it shifted counter-clockwise. Everything that was so clearly moving clockwise, the arms, legs, and hair were suddenly going in the opposite direction. I looked at the image for awile and it began switching back and forth. I could not understand how an object that was moving right to left across the screen could also move left to right...unless they were two seperate animations.

Since I have nothing better to do I saved the animation and opened it up in a GIF animator program and looked it over frame by frame. I focused on the hair and each frame clearly moved the hair clockwise. Okay, so this animation is clockwise. I went back to the website and waited until I saw the animation moving counter-clockwise and saved that animation as a seperate file. Ah ha! Everything on this GIF was clearly moving counter-clockwise!

I looked back at the website again and it was currently moving clockwise. I then glanced back to my counter-clockwise frames and suddenly...they were moving clockwise. So that was the end of that theory. There is only one animation. The individual frames are made in such a way that it must be an optical illusion. What I really found odd was that when I was looking at the stationary frames...they seemed to show different patterns depending on which way the animation on the website was moving. It was as if they shifted their order by themselves. 

No matter how I look at the image, I see her moving clockwise, indicating I'm right-brained. I tried squinting, crossing my eyes, none of it mattered. I even reloaded the page to be sure it wasn't a randomly-changing animation.

Interesting, then, that the image I created years before I saw this that I'm using for my current avatar is facing to the right.

I simply can't get her to do anything but go clockwise. I see exactly how the illusion works, but the "fast" part of her motion (when she's facing toward or away, regardless of how you see her rotating) always fixes it in my head to be clockwise.

However, I'm quite strongly "left-brained" -- I'm right-handed, interested in the analytical aspects of music, mathematical, scientific -- though I do have plenty of more stereotyoically "right-brained" traits. However, to prove how "left-brained" I am: Facts rule. Evidence is essential. This so-called test is bunk as far as i'm concerned until I see a shred of evidence to support it. 😛

Clockwise, in other words right brained, which happens to be right in my case.

However, IMO the test is flawed since 90%+ of people see this dancer move that way. Got my friend who is very left brained to look at it and for her also it goes clockwise...

It was easy to get her to switch direction.  Clockwise, then counter-clockwise.

And based on the list I am right brain.  But I am also right haned.  Interesting.

Clockwise but at times I can see parts like they are trying to go counter, and gives pause effect.

Kind of odd.



Also she spins faster in Firefox than Internet Explorer.

I am left handed so i have no ideas if this affects anything but she will only go anticlockwise for me

Started counter-clockwise, but I got her to switch a couple times too, well, maybe not on purpose, but if I stared at it she would change. After a while I couldn't get her to go back to counter clockwise though.

I'm a southpaw as well, for eating and writing. However I do everything else right handed, such as throw, shoot (on the few occasions I have) and bat, (on the few occasions I have). I was left footed till I joined the military, but they make sure everybody starts out on the right foot.

Interesting, kinda like those strange abstract images you need to stare at till you see a form in the mix.
